Roman Reigns is currently undefeated in Tribal Combat matches.

WWE introduced the Tribal Combat stipulation as part of the Bloodline storyline in 2023, and it has since become one of the most significant match types in the promotion.

The stipulation operates under no-disqualification and no-countout rules, with pinfall or submission as the only ways to win. What makes it unique is that the winner earns the right to be acknowledged as the Tribal Chief of the Anoa’i family and is awarded the Ula Fala.

Up until now, Roman Reigns has been involved in every single Tribal Combat match in WWE history, and he has won all of them.

The first-ever Tribal Combat match in WWE history took place at SummerSlam 2023 in Detroit. Jey Uso, who had broken away from the Bloodline, challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a match that also had the title of Tribal Chief on the line.

Reigns defeated Jey Uso to retain his championship and his standing as the head of the table in the maiden Tribal Combat encounter.

The second Tribal Combat match was one of the most anticipated in recent memory. During Reigns’ absence, Solo Sikoa had taken over the Bloodline and seized the Ula Fala, positioning himself as the new Tribal Chief.

Reigns returned and challenged Solo at the historic Raw Netflix debut on January 6, 2025. In a brutal and emotionally charged match, Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa and reclaimed the Ula Fala, re-establishing himself as the rightful Tribal Chief of the Anoa’i family and going 2-0 in Tribal Combat.

Roman Reigns’ undefeated Tribal Combat record will be on the line on May 31, 2026, at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy. Jacob Fatu challenged Reigns to a Tribal Combat match on the May 18 edition of Raw, with the World Heavyweight Championship and the title of Tribal Chief at stake.

Reigns had already defeated Fatu at Backlash, but Fatu launched a post-match attack and stood tall with the title belt. Fatu then went on a rampage on the following Raw, putting the Tongan Death Grip on The Usos and attacking officials, before issuing the Tribal Combat challenge to settle things once and for all.

With the contract signing, the match was made official on the May 25 episode of Raw, making this the biggest Tribal Combat match in WWE history, with the World Heavyweight title also on the line.

What are the rules for a Tribal Combat match?

There are no disqualifications or count-outs, and the only way to win the match is via pinfall or submission. Additionally, the title of the Tribal Chief is also on the line in the match.
