Sami Zayn has competed at WWE Backlash multiple times.

Sami Zayn has become one of the most underrated WWE superstars of this generation. The man known as ‘The Underdog from the Underground’ has shown resilience in the company, which has led him to win multiple accolades.

However, things have been rocky ever since Zayn defeated Carmelo Hayes for the WWE United States Championship and took away his WrestleMania 42 spot.

This led to a major fan outrage for Zayn, and he was heavily booed on the road to WrestleMania. Moreover, the fans cheered over his WrestleMania opponent, Trick Williams, who went on to defeat him and become the new US Champion.

However, the feud is still not over as Williams continued to mock him with his ‘Gingerbread Man’ shenanigans.

Furthermore, Zayn is now set to challenge Williams for the star-spangled prize in a rematch at the upcoming Premium Live Event, i.e., WWE Backlash. So, here is a look at Sami Zayn‘s full record at Backlash, including wins and losses.

Over the years, Sami Zayn has competed at the Backlash PLE thrice in his career. His first appearance came at the 2017 edition, where he squared off against Baron Corbin in a singles match. It was an exciting showdown that saw the former NXT Champion emerge victorious.

Sami’s next appearance came at the following year’s Backlash event in 2018. He teamed up with his real-life best friend, Kevin Owens, to face the powerhouse duo of Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman.

Unlike the previous year, Zayn was unable to land a victory in his Backlash column. He and Kevin Owens put up a valiant effort; however, they were overpowered by Lashley and Strowman and suffered a major defeat. His third appearance came during the 2023 edition, where he teamed up with Matt Riddle and Kevin Owens to take on The Bloodline (Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa).

Sami’s upcoming match with Trick Wiliams for the WWE United States Championship will mark his fourth appearance at the event. So, it will be interesting to see if Zayn will be able to reclaim the title and add a second victory to his Backlash record.
