WWE recently hosted the 2024 Backlash PPV in France and the show received great reception, making it one of the most successful events in recent times. The Backlash France also marked the largest gateway for any arena events in the world.

Following the success of the 2024 Backlash PPV in France, should WWE do more international events outside the United States? Here we brought a glimpse into the upcoming international events and what the higher officials are teasing about the international shows.

WWE’s upcoming International PLEs

WWE have a number of international events scheduled for this year including the King & Queen of the Ring on May 25 in Jeddah; Saudi Arabia, Clash at the Castle on June 15 in Glasgow, Scotland; Money in the Bank on July 6 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada & Bash in Berlin on August 31 in Berlin, Germany.

Triple H on International Events

Triple H at the Backlash Post-Show Press Conference said that the company is committed to more international events. He reported that he is heavily looking to book an event in Italy. He also said that it would not be the last time in France.

Triple H guaranteed that if the fans want the WWE to be there, they need to be more crazy and passionate about WWE like how France did it. He also teased of getting WrestleMania to London, as he previously teased.

Triple H said,

“I think you see the commitment now to international markets. As I said, I would not expect this to be the last time in France. From what I heard on this tour of the last few days, Italy was quite crazy. So when we get home I will be looking heavily into Italy. I hear this a lot from people, people hit me up a lot on social media from various international markets, asking ‘how do we get WWE here?’ You get it by doing what France did here.”

“You get it by being loud. You get those events by being intense, by being crazy and just being passionate about WWE. So I would look forward to a lot more international events in the years to come. And one last thing I will say when it comes to amazing fans, great reactions…our friend in London, Mayor Khan, was re-elected tonight, we should talk. As I said before. We should talk.”

Nick Khan on International Events

WWE President, Nick Khan earlier this year reported that the company is in negotiations with a number of international cities to host shows there as a process of international expansion of the business.

Nick Khan at JP Morgan’s Global Technology, Media & Communication Conference said,

“We’re in conversations now with a lot of international cities about doing 2024 shows there. Also, part of the intent is to match those up with our media rights, even if they’re not up to over-deliver for incumbent partners who can then invite their partners in the international city to the event, and host them. It’s good for our overall business.”

To conclude, the simple answer is yes, the company is heavily looking forward to more international events & we could expect a number of international event announcements in the future.
