The final SNME edition of 2025 will emanate from Washington.
The December 13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event is set to emanate live from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The show will feature the final WWE match of John Cena, who is set to take on Gunther before hanging up his wrestling boots for good.
As announced by Cena, the show will also give a platform to NXT talents to showcase their skills on the big stage against main-roster talents. Sol Ruca, Oba Femi, and Je’Von Evans are among the stars from the developmental brand that will compete on the show against main-roster talent.
However, several talents who deserved a spot on the show were left off the card. Here’s a look at six WWE NXT stars who should have been included.
Jacy Jayne

Jacy Jayne recently defeated Tatum Paxley at Gold Rush week one to regain the NXT Women’s title. Interestingly, Jayne’s first title reign started when she defeated Stephanie Vauqer, pulling off an upset win to kick off her previous NXT title reign.
WWE has booked Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs Oba Femi, and could have done the same for Jayne and Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer, as the two women not only have history together, but it would have been the perfect rematch at a big stage.
Jordynne Grace

Since her arrival in WWE in early 2025, Jordynne Grace has participated in the women’s Royal Rumble match, and while she has been unable to capture a title in NXT, she is still one of the biggest names on the developmental brand roster.
WWE could have booked the Juggernaut against either Jade Cargill or Nia Jax in a powerhouse showdown that would have delivered a ring-shaking spectacle.
Ethan Page

NXT North American and one-half of the AAA Mixed Tag Team Champion, Ethan Page, has been doing some amazing work on the mic and inside the ring on NXT. Page’s pairing with Chelsea Green has also given him more opportunities to showcase his abilities.
A potential clash with names like Ilja Dragunov or Dominik Mysterio would have been the perfect opportunity for WWE to showcase Page in front of the larger WWE fandom, helping his case for an eventual main-roster promotion.
Blake monroe

Former AEW Women’s World Champion and current NXT Women’s North American Champion, Blake Monroe, has taken WWE NXT by storm since her arrival in the summer of 2025. Monroe has become a staple of NXT programming and has done some incredible work in a short amount of time.
A potential clash against Charlotte Flair or Tiffany Stratton at the upcoming SNME would have showcased how ready Monroe is for the main roster.
Trick Williams

Former TNA and NXT Champion Trick Williams has had an incredible 2025. With matches and defenses not just in NXT but on TNA shows.
Williams’ friendship with Carmelo Hayes could have been built into a friendly match between the two stars, who have made a name for themselves despite their heel tactics, among fans who would not have complained about this matchup.
Joe Hendry

Despite being signed by WWE recently, former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has been a staple of NXT programming in recent months due to the working relationship between WWE and TNA. Hendry has also been featured on WrestleMania 41, when he answered an open challenge issued by Randy Orton.
WWE definitely has a lot of belief in Hendry, who, with his unique entrance music, on-mic and in-ring skills, can easily make a name for himself on the main roster. Fans have demanded to feature Hendry during Cena’s retirement tour and in the tournament to decide Cena’s final opponent.
While he did not get those chances, WWE should have booked him against a big name from the main roster and Hendry would have stolen the show.
