Bronson Reed wins ATGMBR, Andrade aligns with LWO, Judgment Day stands tall, Cody, Seth & Jey took down Solo & Jimmy and more!!
The April 5, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is finally over and it is the WrestleMania 40 go home show. WWE has booked the show to set the final hype of WrestleMania 40. The show witnessed Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, final twist and turns and more. Get to know what happened on this week’s episode of SmackDown as we came out with the complete summary & highlights of the show.
WWE SmackDown Summary & Highlights
The KO Show (with Randy Orton)
Kevin Owens kicks-off Friday Night SmackDown for the KO Show. He addresses their upcoming match at WrestleMania 40. He introduces Randy Orton to the stage and asked him how he hate Logan Paul. People chant Logan suck and Kevin also has a merch saying that. Orton denies.
Logan Paul interferes them in the big screen. He is at WrestleMania XL stadium, cutting a promo against them. Owens and Orton know what to do, the stadium is in thr next street and they went on to take him out. Austin Theory & Grayson Waller came from under the ring and went on to chase Randy Orton & Kevin Owens. They went in a Golf car to the Lincoln Financial Field. Theory & Waller are running behind the car.
Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Pretty Deadly tried to eliminate Omos, but Wilson got eliminated by Omos and Elton Prince eliminated himself. LWO eliminated LDF. Jinder Mahal, Apollo Crews, Veer Mahan and Sangha are eliminated in a row. Omos got eliminated while eliminating The Creed Brothers. Ivar eliminated Cedric Alexander & Ashante. JD McDonagh pulled Ricochet’s leg to eliminate him.
Akira Tozawa with a super-kick to eliminate JD. Otis hit a caterpillar on Reed. Ivar however eliminated Otis. Tozawa tried to fight Ivar, but he threw him over Otis to eliminate him. Ivar took Reed down with a spinning heel kick. Bronson Reed then took Ivar out and win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
Karrion Kross [The Final Testament]
Karrion Kross cuts a promo against Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits that the Final Testament will end their career in the Street Fight at WrestleMania 40 Night 2.
Logan Paul
As Randy Orton and Kevin Owens went on to chase Logan Paul in the Lincoln Financial Field (WrestleMania XL stadium), Logan is here in the Wells Fargo Center (SmackDown arena). Logan Paul takes shots on Philadelphia crowd. Logan says that Philadelphia is dummy as their WrestleMania opponents. He says that their associates Grayson and Austin Theory will take out Randy Orton & Kevin Owens. He ask to play it on the big screen.
They were not in the WrestleMania XL stadium, they are here and they attacked Logan Paul. Owens hit a Stunner & Orton hit an RKO on Paul.
Backstage
Dragon Lee got attacked by somebody, Carlito is callimg out LWO for help. It seems like it is Carlito who attacked him. Rey and Zelina went to the ring as Vega is having a match against Elektra Lopez.
Zelina Vega vs Elektra Lopez
Zelina Vega is with Rey Mysterio. Elektra Lopez is with Santos Escobar, Dominik Mysterio and Andrade. The match began during the commercial. Zelina Vega is having the initial control over the match. Elektra Lopez however changed tha game, by countering the Cross Body. Vega hit a Hammerlock DDT and looks for a pinfall, but Dom distracts. Vega and Rey took Dom down. Elektra Lopez hit a Elektra Shock on Vega for the win.
After the match, Escobar and Dom attack Rey, and ask Andrade to attack Rey. But Andrade took down Dom and Escobar to align with Rey Mysterio and reunite with Zelina Vega.
Naomi, Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill
Both enter the ring. Belair says that she thought, she was the one who has problem with Damage CTRL until Naomi showed up. They address what happened last week and they are happy that they are going to WrestleMania. They introduce their WrestleMania Tag Team Partner, Jade Cargill.
Jade thanked Naomi & Bianca. She also gave a special shoutout to Damage CTRL for making her debut special. She says that the Damage CTRL is in the eye of the storm. Everyone points the WrestleMania sign and the segment ends.
Backstage
Dragon Lee is unable to compete tomorrow at WrestleMania 40 Night 1. Andrade replaces him. Carlito ask who joins Rey & Zelina says it is Andrade. Carlito face changes and he wished them good luck.
New Catch Republic vs Austin Theory & Grayson Waller
Austin Theory and Pete Dunne start the match with Pete Dunne dominating and tagging Tyler Bate in. Tyler Bate took Theory Down with a hurricanrana. Pete Dunne tried for a suicide dive, but Theory took him with a big right hand. Bate connects the suicide dive, but Waller took him down.
After the commercial, Theory hit a Blockbuster on Bate. However Bate hit a vertical suplex and tags Pete Dunne. He is fired up and he takes down both Theory and Waller. He extends Wallers fingers but Theory saved him. Bate punched hum on the face, but Waller took him with a knee to the face. Back in the ring Dunne and Bate hit the Tyler Driver for the win.
After the match, Judgment Day came down and take down all the four. Damian Priest dominated all with clothesline, Razers Edge and South of Heavens Chokeslam. Dom hit a frog splash, JD hit a Dragon Suplex and Balor hit the Coupe De Grace. Judgment Day stands tall.
LA Knight
LA Knight is feeling fresh as he walk in with one who calls him Phenomenal for not showing up and hiding from him. He says that he will win the match and prove who’s game is this, when everyone saying LA Knight.
The Pride
The Pride cuts a promo against Final Testament saying that they will take em down at WrestleMania.
Jey Uso vs Solo Sikoa
Jey Uso punches Solo and kicks him on the face. Solo is taken out and Jey tries for a Suicide Dive, but Solo hit him on the face and delivered a Spinning Slam on Jey ober the apron. Jey tries to punch like The Rock, but Solo took him down with a Belly to Belly Suplex.
Solo tried for a corner splash, but Jey escapes. Jey punched Solo on the face, kicks him on the mid section and took him to the corner. Jey hit a corner splash. Jey looks for the second, but Solo his a Samoan Drop. Solo looks for a Samoan Spike, but Jey hit a a couple of super kick and a spear. He delivered the Uso splash and looks for a fall, but Jimmy attacks Jey.
After the commercial, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa attack Jey and Solo looks for a Samoan Spike. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins saved him. Cody & Seth suoer kicked Jimmy and Solo. Cody hit the cody cutter on Solo and Hit Cross Rhodes on Jimmy. Cody took the weight belt and smashed Jimmy and Solo, with Jey hitting the Uso splash on Jimmy.
After the commercial, Cody cuts a promo saying he will beat sense into Rock and will dethrone Roman at WrestleMania. He says that if one story ends another story begin.
SmackDown Results
- Bronson Reed won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal 2024.
- Elektra Lopez defeated Zelina Vega by pinfall.
- Dragon Lee is injured and Andrade replaced him, by teaming up with Rey Mysterio.
- New Catch Republic defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller.
- Jey Uso vs Solo Sikoa ended in a no contest, with the interference from Jimmy Uso.
