The two stars will clash at the grandest stage in April
The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is set to defend the title against the G.O.A.T of pro wrestling and 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena at the 41st edition of WrestleMania PLE.
Cena punched his ticket to Mania as after failing to win the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match, he announced his entry into the 2025 men’s Elimination Chamber match. Cena entered the Chamber match on March 1 and survived till the end to put CM Punk to sleep and win the match.
However, after winning, Cena did something that changed the course of pro wrestling history and shocked the fandom. For the first time in his illustrious and long career, John Cena turned heel and aligned with The Rock.
What followed is permanently edged in fans’ memory as Cena landed a brutal low blow on Cody Rhodes and continued to beat down the Champion leaving him bloodied and bruised as he posed for photos with The Rock and Travis Scott.
John Cena is looking to win the record 17th World title of his WWE career before retirement
Cena is currently tied with Ric Flair as both of them are 16-time WWE World Champions, however, Cena wants to break the tie and become a 17-time World Champion before he hangs up his wrestling boots at the end of 2025.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Cena will defeat Cody at WrestleMania 41 to become the record-breaking 17-time World Champion. Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he expects Cena to win the Undisputed WWE title.
During the recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed the title clash at WrestleMania, exchanging thoughts on the highly anticipated matchup.
Alvarez: “You know Cena’s winning, right?”
Meltzer: “That was the original plan so I expect that he is, yeah…the original plan was for him to win.”
The 41st edition of WrestleMania is scheduled to take place over two nights on April 19 and 20, 2025. The massive event will take place at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, USA. This is the second WrestleMania to take place in the Las Vegas area.
