WWE Evolution 2025 just received a major star power boost

During the July 4th tapings of SmackDown, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus made a shocking return to confront WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.

The surprise segment confirmed a blockbuster match for the all-women’s Premium Live Event in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 13, with Tiffany Stratton set to defend her title against one of the greatest of all time.

The former seven-time Women’s Champion will step into a title match for the first time in nearly 20 years, marking a historic return to the championship picture.

Tiffany Stratton addresses her Evolution future

Tiffany Stratton opened the segment by addressing her WWE SummerSlam opponent, Jade Cargill, who earned her title shot by winning the Queen of the Ring tournament.

However, the “Center of the Universe” made it clear that she would also defend her title at Evolution before then.

Before she could elaborate further, the crowd erupted as Trish Stratus’ music hit. Making her way to the ring, Stratus locked eyes with the champion.

Tiffany Stratton, never short on confidence, informed her that the SummerSlam spotlight could wait, because at Evolution, she would be defending against Stratus.

The Hall of Famer accepted the challenge, leading to a heated face-off that set the tone for what’s sure to be a must-see generational clash.

Trish Stratus’ last had a title match in 2006

Trish Stratus hasn’t competed in a one-on-one title match since Unforgiven 2006, when she defeated Lita in her hometown of Toronto to win her seventh WWE Women’s Championship.

That match marked her retirement as a full-time performer and has long been remembered as one of WWE’s most emotional farewells.

Now, almost two decades later, the “Diva of the Decade” returns with a shot to add another iconic moment to her Hall of Fame legacy.

While she briefly teamed with Stratton at Elimination Chamber 2025 to defeat Nia Jax and Candice LeRae, they’ll be standing on opposite sides this time with the title on the line.
