WWE stars who are one title away from becoming Triple Crown Champion

There are 34 Triple Crown Champions crowned in WWE history so far!

WWE crowns a Triple Crown Champion when a wrestler wins a primary title, a secondary title and a tag team title in the company. However, only specific titles are eligible to make one a Triple Crown Champion in WWE. 

The WWE Championship & the World Heavyweight Championship are considered as the eligible Primary titles. Only the Intercontinental Championship is considered as the authorized secondary title. However, the tag team title has no specifications, as any tag team title in the main roster is eligible to crown one a triple crown champion.

The person winning titles from all three categories will be crowned as Triple Crown Champion in WWE & the company has seen 34 Triple Crown Champions on the men’s roster. With that being said, we take a look at the stars who are just one title win away from becoming the Triple Crown Champion in WWE.

Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley is a nine-time champion in WWE, which includes two WWE Championships and two Intercontinental Championships. However, the Almighty needs the tag team title to become the Triple Crown Champion. Since Lashley was released from WWE in August 2024, there are very few chances to achieve this milestone.

Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is a nine-time champion in WWE. Owens won the Intercontinental title once and the Raw & SmackDown Tag Team Championship once. Although Owens has won the Universal title, it doesn’t count as the eligible title for the Triple Crowning. Hence, Owens needs to win the WWE Championship to achieve this milestone.

Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman is a four-time champion in WWE. The Monster Among Men has won the Intercontinental Championship once and the Raw Tag Team Championship twice. Similar to Owens, he also won the Universal title and he is yet to win the WWE Championship to achieve the Triple Crown milestone.

Finn Balor

Finn Balor is an eleven-time champion in WWE. He held the Intercontinental twice, the World Tag Team title thrice, SmackDown Tag Team title twice. Similar to Owens and Strowman, he also won the Universal Title, but he is yet to win the WWE Championship to reach the triple crown milestone.

Sheamus

Sheamus is a twelve-time champion in WWE. The Celtic warrior has held the WWE Championship thrice, the World Heavyweight Championship once, the Raw Tag Team Championship four times and the SmackDown Tag Team Championship once. However, he has yet to win the Intercontinental Championship to become the Triple Crown Champion in WWE.

John Cena

John Cena is a twenty-four-time champion in WWE. Cena won the WWE Championship 13 times, the World Heavyweight Championship thrice, the WWE Tag Team Championship twice and the World Tag Team Championship twice. However, Cena needs to win the Intercontinental Championship to become the Triple Crown Champion in WWE.
