Some big names could be making a return
Now and then, WWE rolls out a mysterious set of teaser videos that leave the entire fanbase buzzing with speculation.
The company is currently at it again, posting a new series of cryptic vignettes across social media, each one showing nothing more than someone walking. No face, no voice, just footsteps and fashion.
The first clip, uploaded at 7:42 AM, shows a figure in sharp, polished loafers paired with formal dress pants.
The second video, released at 4:18 PM, switches things up to a slightly more casual look with laced dress shoes and different trousers.
The third installment, depicts bulkier footwear, possibly work boots or sneakers. Each clip feels deliberate, and the variations have set the WWE Universe ablaze with theories about who might be behind the tease.
Here are four stars who could realistically be tied to WWE’s latest viral mystery.
4. Gunther

When the first video dropped, many fans immediately thought of Gunther. “The Ring General” has been on hiatus since losing the Intercontinental Championship earlier this year, and reports have suggested that WWE is saving his next appearance for something significant.
Gunther’s impeccable presentation and no-nonsense demeanor align perfectly with the slick shoes and dress pants from the opening clip.
If the teasers are indeed hinting at his return, it could signal his transition into a new chapter, possibly setting up a blockbuster clash with John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December. The first clip’s refined tone certainly fits Gunther’s “Ring General” persona, making him one of the top contenders in this guessing game.
3. Chris Jericho

Another name swirling in the rumor mill is Chris Jericho. Some eagle-eyed fans believe the trilogy of videos could symbolize his evolution through different eras of his career: the suit-wearing “List of Jericho” version, the light-up jacket “Rock Star” phase, and the classic Y2J persona that defined his early WWE years.
While this would undoubtedly break the internet, the idea faces one major hurdle, Jericho’s contractual status. As of now, there’s no concrete evidence suggesting he’s left AEW, much less signed a deal with WWE. Still, the intrigue around the idea of a returning Jericho is too compelling for fans to ignore.
2. Santos Escobar

A darker horse candidate in this puzzle is Santos Escobar. The talented SmackDown star has been relatively quiet in recent weeks, and WWE could be gearing up for a character reinvention.
The shifting wardrobe in the clips could represent a transformation, from the suave, suit-clad leader of Legado del Fantasma to a more ruthless, streetwise fighter. While it may not be the most headline-grabbing reveal, it would make sense for WWE to refresh Escobar’s presentation to give him renewed momentum.
1. Tony D’Angelo
Of all the potential names, Tony D’Angelo fits the symbolism of the teasers perfectly. The NXT standout has been off television for months, and many have wondered if WWE plans to reintroduce him on the main roster.
The footwear transitions in the vignettes, from luxury loafers to rugged sneakers, could symbolize D’Angelo shedding his “Don of NXT” persona and returning to his gritty, blue-collar roots.
If that’s the case, fans may soon see a more stripped-down version of the character debut on Monday Night Raw, one focused less on mafia overtones and more on his hard-hitting, street-fighting style.
When will WWE reveal who’s behind the teasers?
WWE hasn’t announced an official reveal date, but given the posting pattern, the mystery could unfold within the next week or two on television.
Are the teaser clips hinting at a group or a single superstar?
While most theories point toward an individual return, the different styles of clothing could also suggest the formation of a new faction.
