Rhea Ripley had to vacate the title due to injury
Last week on the backstage of Raw, Liv Morgan attacked the WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley with the chair from the back and followed it with brutal strikes. As most of them waited for Ripley’s reaction to Morgan’s attack this week, Ripley came out with arm braces and announced that she injured her right arm and was forced to vacate the title following Morgan’s attack.
This ended Ripley’s 380 days reign and WWE announced that a new Women’s World Champion will be crowned next week. Here are some of the potential wrestlers who might be crowned as the new champion.
Liv Morgan
Liv Morgan could be crowned as the new World Champion as she was the one to last defeat Ripley in a singles match. She is also the one who injured Ripley and forced her to vacate the title ending her 380 days reign. There are a number of angles in which Liv Morgan can be fitted in as the champion and could develop long time storylines until Ripley’s return.
In recent times she showcased her incredible in-ring talents, however was so short from having her big moment. She was the runner-up of the 2023 & 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match and the 2024 Women’s Elimination Chamber. All these criterias potentially suggest that she might be the right fit to be the next Women’s World Champion.
Nia Jax
After Rhea Ripley vacated her title, Nia Jax claimed that she was the only potential wrestler to be crowned as the Women’s World Champion. She said that she was the one who took Rhea Ripley to the limit and defeated all the potential championship contenders in the past, including Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, and more.
It’s been a long time since Jax held the title, and there aren’t more experienced and destructive women contender’s than her.
Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch could most probably be crowned as the new Women’s World Champion next week. The Man was the last person to challenge Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship.
At WrestleMania 40, Lynch was so close from dethroning Rhea Ripley but came out short. Lynch could still be crowned as the champion for winning the Elimination Chamber 2024 match, which previously took place for championships.
Roxanne Perez
Roxanne Perez is the current NXT Women’s Champion, who was recently crowned at NXT Stand & Deliver. As we are in the WWE Draft season, Roxanne moving to the main roster by vacating the NXT Championship for Women’s World Championship could be a possibility.
WWE has done trading the championship in the past, after the draft. So this move is more likely possible and it could be the first bold move in the new era, that could give hope to a lot of wrestlers in the secondary promotion, NXT.
