WWE is set to host two more PLEs in Saudi Arabia in 2026.
Amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East, which has also impacted Saudi Arabia, a new report indicates that WWE has been internally discussing the status of its upcoming events scheduled in the country.
The rising tensions in the region have already led to several major cancellations. Notably, Formula 1 recently called off the upcoming Grands Prix in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia that were originally scheduled for April. Now, it appears the pro wrestling world may also be facing similar uncertainty.
No decision has been made yet

According to a report from Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials have been talking internally about this year’s two planned events in Saudi Arabia, along with WrestleMania 43 scheduled for Riyadh next year.
Alvarez clarified, however, that these talks are only preliminary and that no final decision has been reached so far. He also clarified that he was not stating that any events had been cancelled or were about to be cancelled.
Rather, Alvarez was highlighting that the promotion had held internal conversations regarding the status of its upcoming shows in Saudi Arabia.
As noted, this discussion is taking place amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, raising serious safety risks for hosting events in the region.
The promotion kicked off 2026 with the Royal Rumble in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on January 31, marking the first of three planned premium live events in the country. Two additional shows are currently pencilled in for May and November, per reports.
Additionally, the 43rd edition of WrestleMania in 2027 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The edition will mark the first time WrestleMania will cross the Atlantic Ocean and only the third time it’s being held outside the United States, with the previous two being WrestleMania 6 in 1990 and WrestleMania 18 in 2002, both hosted in Toronto.
WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia began in 2018 and has since become one of the promotion’s most lucrative international deals.
Has WWE cancelled the scheduled PLEs in Saudi Arabia?
No, per Bryan Alvarez, discussions have taken place regarding the two remaining PLEs scheduled for Saudi Arabia in 2026, as well as WrestleMania 43 in Riyadh in 2027, but no decision has been made yet.
When and where is WrestleMania 43 set to take place?
The 43rd edition of WrestleMania in 2027 will take place as a two-night event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
