Positive update on Stephanie Vaquer’s return.

Stephanie Vaquer’s possible WWE return became a major talking point after the former Women’s World Champion appeared to suffer an ankle injury during Money in the Bank 2026. Vaquer defended her championship against Liv Morgan and Becky Lynch in a triple-threat match, but the night ended in disappointment as Morgan pinned Vaquer to reclaim the title.

The result was followed by concerns about Vaquer’s physical condition. She was seen limping after the match and needed assistance from a referee while making her way backstage. The injury also became a subject of discussion on the following episode of Monday Night Raw, where Vaquer appeared on crutches.

However, the latest developments have brought positive news for her fans. Vaquer confirmed that the injury was relatively minor, and she has already returned to in-ring competition.

Stephanie Vaquer reveals ankle injury status after Money in the Bank

During an interview with TJ Sports, Vaquer confirmed that she had twisted her ankle during the championship match. While the injury left her disappointed, she indicated that it would require only a short period of rest.

“I twisted my ankle. It’s not a big deal — just a couple of days of rest. But more than anything, I’m very disappointed about that match. I would have loved to be able to do this interview with you with the championship here on my shoulder, but I wasn’t able to retain it.”

The Chilean star made it clear that losing the championship was more frustrating than the injury itself. She had worked hard to win the title and wanted to leave the event as champion.

Vaquer also remained optimistic about recovering from the setback, insisting that she would bounce back despite the disappointing result.

“So that’s the optimism I have right now, but yes, I’m disappointed. No, I didn’t expect something like that to happen at Money in the Bank, but we’re going to recover, like always.”

A subsequent report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, confirmed that the injury was legitimate rather than simply part of a WWE storyline. However, Vaquer was not expected to miss an extended period. Her appearance on the October 16 live event subsequently demonstrated that her recovery had progressed quickly.

Stephanie Vaquer returns to WWE in-ring action

Vaquer made her in-ring return at WWE’s October 16 live event in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she challenged newly crowned Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. However, she was unsuccessful in regaining the championship.

Her quick return is encouraging, although WWE has not announced a separate medical clearance update or a specific timeline for her next televised appearance.

The most obvious potential storyline involves Becky Lynch. The two women exchanged heated words on the October 12 episode of Raw, blaming each other for the events that allowed Morgan to win the title. Vaquer argued that she had done Lynch a favor, while Lynch made it clear that their rivalry was far from over.

A singles match between Vaquer and Lynch could therefore be a logical next step, especially if WWE wants to resolve their differences before returning Vaquer to the championship picture. At the same time, her recent title loss leaves room for another challenge against Morgan.

Vaquer has already made a significant impact in WWE, winning the Women’s World Championship and establishing herself as one of the company’s leading women’s competitors. She has also captured the NXT Women’s Championship and the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Her determination was evident in her own words: “Every time I lose, I come back stronger.”
