John Cena turned heel and attacked Cody Rhodes at the Elimination Chamber PLE
The 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena vowed to win the men’s Chamber match after failing to win the men’s Royal Rumble match. Cena was determined to win the Chamber match and headlined WrestleMania to battle for the World title.
Cena emerged victorious in the Chamber match as he survived till the end and put CM Punk to sleep to win the match. However, after winning the match, he did something unthinkable which shocked the pro wrestling world as fans still can’t believe that the 16-time World Champion turned heel.
Following Cody Rhodes‘ rejection of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s offer, Cena laughed and embraced Rhodes seemingly approving Cody’s decision. However, when Cena hugged Cody, The Rock signalled a cut throat gesture and seemed to give the green signal to Cena after which he landed a brutal low blow out of nowhere and continued to beat down Rhodes leaving him bloodied and gasping for air.
Fans were unable to believe what they were witnessing as for the time in his decades long career Cena turned heel and sold his soul to The Rock. After aligning with The Rock, many fans believe that the two stars will wreak havoc for Rhodes until WrestleMania 41 where Johnson will likely aid Cena to win his 17th World title.
Stone Cold wants to help Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41
Following the developments at the Elimination Chamber PLE, many fans are wondering if Rhodes will be able to defend his title against the mighty corporate force of The Rock, who will definitely aid Cena.
However, there is one possibility of a WWE legend returning and aiding The American Nightmare against Cena, that legend is none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin. In a shocking twist, Stone Cold might return to re-ignite his feud with The Rock and reembrace his anti-establishment persona.
In an interview with Andrian Hernandez, Stone Cold has himself expressed his urge to be at WrestleMania and stated that if Cody needs another hand he would be willing to help him. While this interview is from last year, given the current scenario, Stone Cold returning to help Rhodes would be the perfect scenario.
Stone Cold was earlier set for an appearance at WrestleMania 40 during the final moments of Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes to counter Johnson. However, he was unable to reach an agreement with the promotion and was not able to attend the event.
Fans are now hoping for the epic encounter between The Rock and Stone Cold at this year’s WrestleMania which will emanate from the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada on April 19 and 20.
