The Empress of Tomorrow will make her return tonight in Green Bay.

‘The Empress of Tomorrow’ Asuka is set to make her return on the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, which will air live from the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This will be her first appearance in over a year; she was last seen on Raw after Backlash 2024.

Asuka is set to compete in the final opening round match in the Queen of the Ring tournament against Ivy Nile, Stephanie Vaquer, and Raquel Rodriguez. The winner of the match will secure the final spot in the semi-finals against Alexa Bliss.

Ahead of her return tonight on WWE Raw, let’s take a look at the top three storylines for the Empress of Tomorrow.

3. Move to SmackDown

While it sounds like a very aggressive strategy, Asuka can move to SmackDown, whose women’s division consists of names like Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. The Empress of Tomorrow has a long history with both Flair and Bliss, who also were absent from WWE programming and made their return during the 2025 women’s Royal Rumble match.

2. Reunite with Kairi Sane

Before her hiatus, Asuka held the Women’s Tag Team titles alongside her Damage CTRL member Kairi Sane. Known as the Kabuki Warriors, the two were in their fourth tag title reign, which ended at Backlash 2024, when Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair defeated them, ending their fourth reign at 99 days.

The Empress of Tomorrow could reunite with Sane in order to recapture the tag titles, which are currently held by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

1. Target the Women’s World Champion

While Iyo Sky and Asuka have been part of the Damage CTRL stable, the promotion has quietly disbanded the stable after the release of Dakota Kai. The Empress of Tomorrow could target her former stablemate, who is the current Women’s World Champion, following her return, making it clear that she still has title aspirations.

Sky, being featured rarely on television, has led many fans to believe that the promotion is planning a storyline between her and Asuka, and fans are ready to see the two Japanese stars collide once again inside the squared circle.
