The 9/13 episode of WWE SmackDown could light up the ongoing storylines!
WWE is all set to host the September 13, 2024, Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, United States. This is the first episode of SmackDown to premiere on USA Network after almost five years.
As the Season Premiere is set to kick-off, WWE has booked some of the interesting matches and segments for this week’s show. Ahead of the event, here we take a look at the top five storylines to watch out for on this week’s WWE SmackDown.
5. Tag Team title unification
On the September 10, 2024, episode of WWE NXT, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and Jacob Fatu of the Bloodline made their surprise appearance to brutally attack Nathan Frazer, Axiom and The Street Profits to end the NXT Tag Team Championship match in a no-contest. Following the assault, Tama Tonga said that they did so, on the orders of the Tribal Chief.
As the Bloodline already holds a tag team title, their interference during the tag team match on NXT potentially indicates a tag team unification angle. At this stage, the NXT stars could appear on this week’s show to seek revenge, which could result in a tag team unification match.
4. LA Knight’s next opponents
Last week on SmackDown, LA Knight was confronted by Carmelo Hayes and Andrade, who claimed themselves as the next challengers for the US title. Knight asked them to settle things between themselves, but an accidental attack on the champ made Knight deliver a BFT to both men.
Following that WWE announced a fifth match between Andrade & Hayes and the winner will advance to challenge Knight for the title next. Who will be Knight’s next opponent? Will it be Andrade? or Carmelo Hayes? or both?
3. Bayley vs Nia Jax
Bayley made her first appearance after SummerSlam, two weeks ago on SmackDown in Berlin to stop Tiffany Stratton from helping Nia Jax retain the WWE Women’s Championship. Last week, The Role Model defeated Stratton in a singles match to prove that she came back strong. At this stage, Bayley is expected to challenge Nia Jax for a championship rematch.
2. Solo Sikoa’s plans to covet gold
Solo Sikoa will be challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in a steel cage match. The cage match is set to prevent The Bloodline interference during the match, but the Tribal Chief could have a plan to bring the Bloodline ringside to favor him. Solo could also be aware that Roman will be on the show, as his return is already announced. What will be Solo’s plan to capture the gold, despite the potential outside threat from Roman Reigns, who screwed him before at SummerSlam?
1. Roman Reigns’ mission to recapture the throne
On the August 16, 2024, episode of WWE SmackDown, Roman Reigns got brutally attacked by the Bloodline, using the number of games as their advantage. After almost a month of hiatus, WWE has announced that the ‘Original Tribal Chief’ will make his return to the blue brand. Roman could be aware that the numbers advantage could outplay him and it won’t help him from capturing the Ula Fala back.
To battle the Bloodline, Roman could with Jimmy Uso for backup. On the other hand, his current rival Solo Sikoa will be having his Undisputed WWE Championship match against Cody Rhodes inside the steel cage. With Solo locked in and Roman potentially coming with a backup, will he be able to get the Ula Fala, by putting the Bloodline down? This is the hottest story of the blue brand to watch out for this week.
