The build towards Backlash will intensify on Raw.
Post-WrestleMania 42, WWE is now gearing for the 2026 edition of Backlash and will deliver the April 27 edition of WWE Raw this Monday. Live from the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas, the show will likely feature match announcements for the PLE.
World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns will respond to Jacob Fatu’s Backlash challenge, while the newly crowned Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch will make her first appearance since regaining the title at Mania.
Furthermore, Joe Hendry is also set to make his official Raw debut and he will celebrate with a concert. Let us take a look at the top four storylines that might be in play on tonight’s WWE Raw.
4. Women’s World title rematch

After defeating Stephanie Vaquer to capture the Women’s World title Liv Morgan held a celebration last week, which was interupted by Sol Ruca, leading a match between the two where Liv won after Zaria’s interference.
However after the match, Vaquer came out to have a fierce face-off with Morgan, singalling that the feud is far from over. With reports of a rematch between the two, Liv and Vaquer are likely going to face off in Texas.

3. Joe Hendry’s debut & Iyo Sky vs Asuka

During last week’s show, the promotion announced an appearance from Joe Hendry, who is now officially part of the Monday Night Raw roster (as confirmed by Michael Cole) and will celebrate with a live concert. WWE will likely use this segment to set up Hendry first bout on the Red brand, similar to Ethan Page and Sol Ruca’s first matches post the main roster call-up.
On the other hand, despite massive fan outcry, Iyo Sky vs Asuka was never booked for WrestleMania. However, reports now suggest that WWE will book this matchup at Backlash. Notably, Kairi Sane is no longer with the promotion and it will be interesting to see how WWE substitues it, especially since Sane was a major part of the storyline.
2. Seth Rollins-Bron Breakker
During last week’s show, Seth Rollins crashed the Vision’s segment to attack Bron Breakker with a steel chair. However, the numbers game quickly took over as Austin Theory and Logan Paul started attacking Rollins, until The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) made their return to even the odds.
While the return of the Street Profits is likely going to end up in a World Tag Team title showdown agaisnt Logan and Theory, the feud between Rollins and Breakker is likely going to stretch out until SummerSlam.
1. Roman Reigns vs Jacob Fatu
Last week Jacob Fatu crashed Roman Reigns World Heavyweight title celebration after WrestleMania and challenged the OTC, stating that while he’s not out here to be Tribal Chief, he needs everything that Roman has.
Roman urged The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) to reason with Fatu, and they confronted him on SmackDown, attempting to redirect his focus toward Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes instead of Roman. However, Fatu stood firm on his intentions, and now Reigns is set to address his challenge at Backlash in Texas.
Reports have confirmed a clash between Roman and Fatu at Backlash, with Reigns then likely engagaing in a programming with Gunther. This means that it likely will be a one and done deal, keeping Roman active while also pushing Fatu into the main event scene.
