Top five storylines to watch out for on WWE SmackDown (November 01, 2024)

The 11/01 episode of WWE SmackDown was pre-taped!
The stars of WWE gathered in Brooklyn, New York for another action-packed edition of WWE SmackDown, which was pre-taped at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The 11/01 episode of the Blue brand was pre-taped after the 10/25 edition went off air.
Fans can expect a night of increasing tensions, established rivalries, and dramatic declarations since the arrival of Jey Uso into the fray. The SmackDown show will feature storylines that will culminate at the Saudi event this week. Let us now look at the top five such storylines that are in store for the Friday Night show.
5. Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton vs Gunther & Ludwig Kaiser
The team of Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes will take on the WWE Heavyweight Champion Gunther and Ludvig Kaiser from the Imperium faction.
This match was set up after Gunther and Kaiser attacked Rhodes during his face-off against Gunther last week for the ‘Champion vs Champion’ fight as Orton came to Rhodes’s rescue. Gunther and Rhodes are scheduled for a match at the Saudi PLE this week.
4. Fatal 4-Way WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The team of Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill vs Iyo Sky & Kairi Sane vs Chelsea Green & Piper Niven vs Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson are scheduled for a fatal 4-Way match at Crown Jewel 2024 PLE. Belair and Cargill’s Tag team titles are on the line for this match.
Ahead of their clash at the Crown Jewel PLE, one-half of each competing team will go into a singles fatal 4-Way on the 11/01 episode of the Blue brand. Iyo Sky from Damage CTRL will face Bianca Belair, Lash Legend, and Piper Niven in a Fatal 4 Way match.
3. The OG Bloodline reunion
The OG Bloodline consisting of Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso was reunited after last week’s event when MCMG faced The Bloodline (Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa) for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Solo Sikoa‘s interference during the fight on SmackDown was countered by Jimmy and Roman and a star from the Red brand named Jey Uso. The OG Bloodline will likely cut a promo for their scheduled bout against Sikoa and faction at the Crown Jewel 2024 PLE.

2. Nia Jax vs Liv Morgan WWE Crown Jewel build-up
WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan will face off against WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax ahead of their scheduled ‘Champion vs. Champion’ match at Crown Jewel 2024.
The two champions will cut a promo on this week’s episode of SmackDown to build up their match for the inaugural Crown Jewel title this week. The victor at Crown Jewel PLE will be named the inaugural Crown Jewel Champion. Morgan and Jax will likely engage in mind games to gain an edge ahead of their showdown in Saudi Arabia.
1. Cody Rhodes vs Gunther WWE Crown Jewel build-up
WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes is scheduled to face WWE Heavyweight Champion Gunther for the inaugural Crown Jewel Title at the Crown Jewel 2024 PLE in Saudi Arabia this week.
The two champions had a face-off during last week’s episode of the Blue brand which ended in a brawl. On this week’s episode of SmackDown the two champions are scheduled to take each other in a tag team match with Randy Orton in Rhodes’ corner and Ludwig Kaise from the Imperium in Gunther’s corner.
This match would be utilized for the build-up of the ‘Champion vs Champion’ clash at the Crown Jewel PLE. The matchup also might lead to an indecisive victory for either team which would add to the storyline.
