4. Andrade vs Carmelo Hayes
The historic series between Andrade and Carmelo Hayes was scheduled to conclude during last week’s episode of SmackDown. However, both the stars got into an altercation backstage that led to the cancellation of the fight. The stars are currently tied 3-3 in the series and the fight this week will decide the winner.
During the 10/18 episode of SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced that the match would take place next week with the current United States Champion LA Knight as the special guest referee.
The involvement of the current champion in the #1 contender’s match makes the fight more interesting. WWE could use this match and the champion as a referee to build the storyline further ahead of their Crown Jewel 2024 event.
3. Shinsuke Nakamura’s return
WWE star Shinsuke Nakamura has been absent from WWE action since his last appearance six months ago. He last made his appearance in the April 22 episode of WWE RAW. As per reports from PWInsider Elite, Shinsuke Nakamura is expected to make his long-awaited return at SmackDown during this week’s show in Brooklyn, New York.
The return of Nakamura will be a great addition to the blue brand, especially in the South Asian market as he is currently among the most prominent and accomplished wrestlers from Japan. It is uncertain what the WWE is planning for the Japanese star but his return might involve an angle concerning the Crown Jewel 2024 PLE.
2. Cody Rhodes & Gunther face off
The WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes and WWE Heavyweight Champion Gunther are scheduled to face each other for the inaugural Crown Jewel Title at Crown Jewel 2024 PLE.
Rhodes has invited Gunther for a face-off ahead of their match at the Saudi Arabia event, last week on Friday Night SmackDown. The WWE Heavyweight Champion discussed the callout on this week’s episode of RAW and stated that he will be in Brooklyn on Friday.
The promotion could use this face-off to build hype for the Champion vs Champion clash at the Saudi event for the inaugural Crown Jewel Title.
1. Roman Reigns vs The Bloodline
‘The Original Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns was once again attacked viciously by The Bloodline on last week’s episode of SmackDown. Reigns will appear on this week’s episode of SmakcDown as he has been confirmed for six WWE SmackDown programs on the USA Network in October and November 2024.
The Bloodline also attacked Jimmy Uso during last week’s episode, the storyline became even more intense as Solo Sikoa and faction attacked Jey Uso this week on Raw. The interference cost Jey his Intercontinental title.
Reigns will look for redemption as he wants to take down the rogue Bloodline and its chief Solo Sikoa and asserts himself as ‘The Tribal Chief’ once again.
