This week’s episode of the Blue brand features two qualifying matches

Tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to emanate live from the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, USA. Following in the steps of building towards the Elimination Chamber PLE, the episode will feature two qualifying matches.

Apart from the two Elimination Chamber Qualifying matches, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton is also set to defend the title in a rematch against her former friend Nia Jax. This will be Jax’s first chance to exact her revenge and reclaim the title.

Ahead of tonight’s show in Capital One Arena, let us take a look at the top five storylines that you need to watch out for.

5. Tag Team Title contenders

Despite declining Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) their promised title shot, DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tomasso Ciampa) are now obliged to defend their title against Prince and Wilson. This is due to General Manager Adam Pearce’s intervention last week where he added a stipulation and announced a match between the two teams.

Pretty Deadly’s victory last week has earned them a title shot against DIY. However, the tag team division has just gotten much more interesting with the return of Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins). The duo has warned the entire division, hinting that they may soon throw their hats into the ring and contend for the tag team titles.

4. Elimination Chamber Qualifiers

As mentioned earlier, two qualifying matches are set for the show where Noami and Women’s US Champion Chelsea Green will collide in the women’s Chamber Qualifying match. While in the men’s Chamber Qualifying match features a colossal triple threat match featuring Braun Strowman, Jacob Fatu and Damian Priest.

The two matches especially the triple threat match will make the show more intriguing as both the men’s and women’s divisions look to finalize the lineup for the high-stakes Chamber matches.

3. Tiffany Stratton’s title defense

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany will defend her title for the second time against her former friend Nia Jax. This will be a rematch from their first unplanned meeting where Stratton cashed in the MITB Contract. Jax has gotten the rematch after a while and she would be looking to recapture the title.

While Stratton wants to retain the title and defend it at the grandest stage in April. The presence of the 2025 Women’s Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair is also an interesting angle as there is a chance Flair interferes with the match. Candice LeRae will also likely try to aid Jax which would add more drama to the defense.

2. Undisputed WWE Championship

On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, Jey Uso picked the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther after winning the men’s Rumble match. This means that the rest of the division from both brands will now shift their attention to the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

CM Punk and Seth Rollins on this week’s Raw already made it clear that they are gunning for Rhodes’ title after Elimination Chamber. More stars like Drew McIntyre who qualified for the Chamber match will likely cut a promo warning the champion ahead of the PLE.

1. Solo Sikoa reinstates authority

After his devastating loss against Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa made a brief appearance and left without uttering a word. However, Sikoa returned last week in his ruthless manner as he ambushed Cody Rhodes in the final moments of last week’s show.

Sikoa will likely demand a title shot against the Undisputed WWE Champion at the upcoming PLE. There are also chances of him reuniting with Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga to wreak havoc and remind everyone that he still holds authority despite losing the Ula Fala.

Will Charlotte Flair interfere during the WWE Women’s Title match tonight? Who will qualify tonight in the two announced matches? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
