Storylines are brewing ahead of the Elimination Chamber PLE
The Stamford-based promotion has arrived in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, but before delivering the second PLE of 2025, the promotion will deliver the 02/28 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Tonight’s episode of the Blue brand will serve as the Elimination Chamber go-home show.
The 02/20 episode of WWE SmackDown will emanate live from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which is just a five minute walk from the Rogers Centre, the venue for the second and final PLE ahead of the grandest stage, WrestleMania.
Ahead of the show tonight in Toronto, here are the top five storylines that fans need to watch out for the go-home show.
5. Street Profits demand respect
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins (Street Profits) made their return at the Royal Rumble PLE and attacked both Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) and the Tag Team Champions DIY (Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano), leading to the title match ending in disqualification.
Following the attack, Ford and Dawkins warned the entire tag division stating, “This violence will be televised… May god have mercy on your souls!” The warning played out on the last week’s episode where they ambushed DIY and Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson & Elton Prince). It will be interesting to see who their next target is this week.

4. United States Championship match
United States Champion Shinsuke Nakamura is set to defend the title against former US Champion LA Knight. The match was set after Knight defeated The Miz to become the number one contender for the title. This will be their second meeting since Survivor Series 2024 PLE.
Nakamura defeated Knight at the PLE to win the title, while in the rematch Knight came very close to re-capturing the title but due to the interference from Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga the match ended in disqualification. While Knight is looking for redemption, Nakamura wants to inflict punishment on the former champ.
3. Tag Team action at Chamber
WWE legend Trish Stratus is set for an appearance on the go-home show in front of her home crowd tonight. She is set to team up with WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton to battle Nia Jax and Candice LeRae this Saturday at the Rogers Center.
Jax and LeRae will likely want to repeat last week’s actions and attack Stratus and Tiffany with malicious intentions, aiming to ensure they’re not at 100% for the PLE. Stratus and Stratton, on the other hand, would want to teach the opposing team a lesson ahead of their clash at the Chamber PLE.
2. Solo Sikoa – Jacob Fatu
The tensions between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu have been rising since Sikoa’s loss against Roman Reigns at the Raw Netflix debut. After losing the Ula Fala, Sikoa has not looked the same while Fatu has become an unstoppable force.
On the 02/14 episode Sikoa accidentally took out Tama Tonga while brawling with Cody Rhodes, on the last week’s episode a similar accident transpired but Sikoa was on the receiving end this time as Fatu accidentally took him out with a brutal kick while attacking Damian Priest. The rift between the two seems to be growing and if they fail to reach a middle ground, we will likely witness a clash between the two.
1. Elimination Chamber build-up
As mentioned earlier, this week’s show will serve as the go-home show for the Elimination Chamber PLE which is set to emanate from the Rogers Centre in Toronto on March 1. Stars such as Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest have qualified for the men’s Chamber match.
The stars will likely cut a promo similar to this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw building up hype ahead of the clash on Saturday. The show will also potentially include segments hyping up the matches set for the PLE, including the women’s Chamber match and the unsanctioned clash between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
