Top five storylines to watch out for on WWE SmackDown tonight (March 07, 2025)

This week’s episode of the Blue brand is the fallout show from the Elimination Chamber PLE.
The 03/07 episode of Friday Night WWE SmackDown will serve as the fallout show from the Elimination Chamber PLE, which concluded on March 1 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. The promotion will now deliver the Blue brand’s show from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
Many top stars will appear on the show, including Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Jade Cargill and many more. The promotion has also announced a street fight involving the Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green for the show.
Ahead of the show tonight in Philadelphia, here are the top five storylines that fans need to watch out for in the fallout show.
5. United States Championship
On last week’s episode, a tournament was held to decide the number one contender for the United States Championship, which featured three matches. LA Knight, Jacob Fatu, and Carmelo Hayes qualified and battled in the finals for a shot at the title.
Knight emerged victorious in the clash and bagged the number one contender spot, he now looks to re-capture the title. Nakamura defeated Knight at the PLE to win the title, while in the rematch, Knight came very close to re-capturing the title, but due to the interference from Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga, the match ended in disqualification.

4. Street fight
Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green is set to take on Michin once again in a street fight. The two stars have been locked in a feud since the December 14 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Green defeated Michin with the help of Piper Niven to become the inaugural champion.

3. Jade Cargill – Naomi
After months of absence, Jade Cargill made her shocking return in the opening moments of the women’s Elimination Chamber match and attacked Naomi instead of Liv Morgan. The beatdown left Naomi unable to compete and she was eliminated.
Cargill is set to make an appearance on this week’s show and she will likely clarify her actions and reveal the assailant who ambushed her backstage in November, leading to the injury that forced her out of action.
2. Randy Orton – Kevin Owens
“The Viper” Randy Orton was forced out of action as Kevin Owens landed the package piledriver, causing serious injury to his former friend. However, Orton made his highly anticipated but unexpected return after the unsanctioned match between Owens and Sami Zayn and aided Zayn from further damage.
Orton will also appear on this week’s show and it looks like he’s hungry for revenge. Additionally, there is a possibility that Orton will team up with Cody Rhodes to face The Rock and John Cena.
1. Cody Rhodes addresses John Cena’s betrayal
Cody Rhodes arrived in Toronto ready to give The Rock the proverbial finger, well aware that he would never link up with the guy who nearly robbed him of his storybook ending at WrestleMania 40. While he accomplished precisely that, The Rock made the greatest play by persuading John Cena to sell his soul.
After a brutal beating that not only broke his body but also his heart, Cody Rhodes is back less than a week later to speak with the WWE Universe and potentially express his thoughts on The Rock’s partnership with his number one contender at WrestleMania 41, John Cena.
How will Cody Rhodes counter the influential alliance between The Rock and John Cena? Can LA Knight recapture the United States title? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
