Top five storylines to watch out for on WWE SmackDown tonight (March 21, 2025)

Jade Cargill returns to action against Liv Morgan tonight!

This week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to emanate from the Unipol Arena in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. This week’s episode will continue building towards the WrestleMania 41 PLE as storylines and feuds are heating up.

The show will feature the return of Roman Reigns along with the appearance of two superstars from Monday Night Raw, CM Punk and Seth Rollins who will make an appearance to confront Reigns about the attack during the steel cage match on last week’s Raw.

Ahead of the show tonight in Bologna, here are the top five storylines that fans need to watch out for on the 03/21 show of WWE SmackDown.

5. Damian Priest retaliates

The feud between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest picked up steam on last week’s show as McIntyre ambushed Priest during his clash against Shinsuke Nakamura. Drew also promised to make Priest’s life a living hell. Damian will be looking to return the favor tonight and will likely ambush McIntyre adding to the animosity between the two.

4. Zelina Vega eyes the US title

On last week’s show, Zelina Vega declared that she is coming for Chelsea Green’s Women’s US title. However, Piper Niven intercepted and clarified that if she wanted to get to the champion she would first get to her and Alba Fyre. Vega is now set to battle Niven and is looking for a decisive win to challenge the champion and capture the throne.

3. Braun Strowman once again battles Jacob Fatu

Braun Strowman and Jacob Fatu are set to face off once again in a singles match tonight, this match was set up following last week’s in a six-man tag match which ended with Fatu decimating Strowman, solidifying the notion that he is now the ‘Alpha’. Strowman will look to return the favor and defeat Fatu tonight.

2. WWE Women’s Championship

WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton returned the favor as she attacked Charlotte Flair after her match against B-Fab last week. While the two stars have professed their hatred for each other, it seems like the storyline is just brewing and will likely turn more voilent as the WrestleMania 41 inches closer.

1. CM Punk & Seth Rollins on SmackDown

Roman Reigns made his return on the last week’s episode of WWE Raw and ambushed both Seth Rollins and CM Punk during their steel cage match. Irked with the attack both Rollins and Punk are set to confront Reigns on tonight’s show and with the reports of a triple-threat clash between the three at Mania, it would be a very interesting segment for fans.
