Chaos might be in store for Raw this Monday.

Live from the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska, the May 4 edition of Monday Night Raw will feature the final face-offs before Backlash 2026 in Tampa, Florida, this Saturday. The show features a contract signing where Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu will make their showdown official.

On the other hand, Sol Ruca is also announced to sing her Raw contract. Meanwhile, Oba Femi will commence his open challenge, while a tag team match will unfold with the Intercontinental Champion, Penta, at the helm of it.

All that and so much more will be in store for this Monday’s show. Let us take a look at the top four storylines that might be in play on the upcoming edition of WWE Raw.

4. Oba Femi’s open challenge

After defeating Grayson Waller last week, Oba Femi issued an open challenge and is set to commence it this Monday on Raw. Fans are now speculating on who might be brave enough to answer it.

That said, WWE has done exceptional work in hyping up Femi, and the win over Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania has catapulted him into the big leagues. They now need to handle his character and storyline, and maybe build towards the teased showdown with Roman Reigns.

3. Backlash build

As noted, the May 4 edition will serve as the go-home show for Backlash, and the show will hype up fans for the PLE. Among the matches announced for the show is a grudge match between Asuka and Iyo Sky.

While fans are still somewhat hyped to see these two stars duke it out inside the ring, with the departure of Kairi Sane, it remains to be seen what the payoff for the feud is. A great match without any proper outcome for the storyline will be a frustrating ending for fans.

2. Seth Rollins vs Bron Breakker

Last week, Seth Rollins challenged Bron Breakker to a match at Backlash, and the match was made official by WWE later. This is another WrestleMania 42 match that never materialized, despite Breakker receiving medical clearance, as WWE wanted to give more time in the build for the matchup.

That said, the upcoming clash definitely feels like the first chapter of this feud, with more carnage to come. The presence of the rest of the Vision members and how Rollins counters it is also an intriguing angle that will be explored in the coming weeks.

1. World Heavyweight title clash

Last week, Jacob Fatu almost forced Roman Reigns to accept his challenge for Backlash, applying the Tongan Death Grip, leaving the Champion gasping for breath as he accepted the challenge, wanting to settle the score. The two will now put pen to paper as a contract signing is announced for this Monday.

Itching to get his move in, Reigns will likely draw the first punch this time, and fans should expect a chaotic brawl. Additionally, what role, if any, the Usos and Solo Sikoa will play either before or after Backlash is also something fans should keep an eye on.
