Tonight’s show of SmackDown will emanate from Texas!

The July 18 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to serve as the fallout show for last week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event as well as the all-women’s PLE, Evolution. The show will air live from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena and Cody Rhodes are set to face off in a highly anticipated SummerSlam contract signing. WWE Women’s Champions Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez are also set for an appearance.

The show will also start the build towards summer’s biggest event, SummerSlam, which is now less than three weeks away. Ahead of tonight’s fallout show, let us take a look at the top five storylines that you need to watch out for on tonight’s WWE SmackDown.

5. Jelly Roll’s debut

Country star, Jelly Roll, is set to make his debut and team up with fellow Tennessean native known among fans as ‘The Viper’ Randy Orton to take on the team of Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre at SummerSlam.

There is a lot of bad blood between the two teams, and after what happened at SNME and on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the build is likely going to get more ugly tonight.

4. New Tag Team Champions

On last week’s show, The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis) defeated The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) to become the new Tag Team Champions, a scenario which the entire tag division was opposed to.

It will be interesting to see how the tag division reacts, as they’ll likely make their case to contend for the title against the champions who seem nearly impossible to pin.

3. SNME & Evolution fallout

As mentioned above, this week’s show is set to serve as the fallout show for last week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event as well as the all-women’s PLE, Evolution.

Similar to this week’s Raw, the promotion will recap the developments from the PLE while continuing the build towards SummerSlam, likely announcing more matches for the PLE.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez, are set to make an appearance on SmackDown tonight.

There are rumors and some reports suggesting that there are plans for the newly formed tag team of Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair to battle for the tag titles at SummerSlam and this appearance might be the one to kick off the feud between the two teams, leading to their clash.

1. SummerSlam contract signing

Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena and Cody Rhodes are set to come face-to-face in the SummerSlam contract signing tonight.

The two stars will meet in a rematch from WrestleMania 41, after Rhodes secured the title shot by defeating Randy Orton in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. There are three weeks left for the rematch, and the build will likely turn ugly sooner than expected.
