Live from the Mortgage Matchup Arena in Phoenix, Arizona, tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown will feature a WrestleMania 42 contract signing as Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton sign the dotted line to make the Undisputed title clash official.

The return of American music star Jelly Roll has been confirmed for the show. Additionally, The Miz via X has also announced that Jelly Roll will appear on a special edition of the Miz TV this Friday.

WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill is set to take on Michin in a singles match. Let us now take a look at the top four storylines that might be in play on tonight’s WWE SmackDown.

4. Women’s Tag Team titles

During last week’s show, the Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) held a celebration after capturing the Tag Team titles. However, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, and later Kiana James and Giulia, crashed the celebration, leading to a clash between the two teams, with the winner securing a title shot against the newly crowned Champions.

Bliss and Flair will now challenge for the title; however, ahead of WrestleMania 42, WWE needs to build a proper feud for the show.

3. What’s next for Drew McIntyre?

Drew McIntyre lost the Undisputed title last week at the hands of Cody Rhodes. This ended his title reign at 56 days, putting a question mark over his future before WrestleMania.

Jacob Fatu played a hand in the title loss, stopping McIntyre from using the steel chair. This will likely be used to build up a Mania clash between the two stars who have been feuding since January.

2. Jade Cargill vs Rhea Ripley

After winning the women’s Elimination Chamber, Rhea Ripley made an appearance on last week’s SmackDown to face off against the WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill.

The feud, which kicked off with a major controversy on social media, is likely going to pick up steam in the coming weeks. Cargill is scheduled to take on Michin in a singles match tonight, and fans can expect Ripley’s presence ringside.

As noted, Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre are set to sign the contract for their WrestleMania main-event clash for the Undisputed title tonight. This will be their first meeting since Orton ‘RKOd’ Cody to bag the win in the men’s Elimination Chamber match.

The story between the two friends has intrigued fans, who are eager to see what cracks begin to form before their high-stakes showdown.
