Top four WWE superstars CM Punk must face after Drew McIntyre rivalry ends

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have been having a heated rivalry since late 2023. They developed their storyline into one of the key driving factors of the company, despite being medically uncleared to compete. Punk recently got cleared to compete and faced McIntyre at SummerSlam, but ended in vain as Drew pinned Punk for the win.

At this stage, CM Punk called for a rematch with the Strip Match stipulation at Bash in Berlin. As they are getting close to ending their feud, here are four WWE superstars Punk must face after McIntyre.

4. Gunther

Punk has just restarted his in-ring career in WWE with the ongoing feud with McIntyre. The World Championship plays an important role in the feud between Punk and McIntyre, where Punk screwed Drew over and over for the title. Punk also promised that Drew may not win the world title again. To make it happen, Punk must win the World Heavyweight Championship and stop Drew from winning the title. To win the world title, Punk must square off against Gunther in the upcoming event and handle all the business at once with the title.

3. John Cena

Punk and John Cena had a great rivalry a decade ago and made one of the most entertaining storylines together. Punk gained the spotlight after he feuded with Cena in 2011. However, they didn’t have a major rivalry then. Since John Cena announced his retirement tour, Punk has been teasing one last match with Cena, before he winds up. Punk spoke about the potential match both on screen and in the backstage interviews. We may never see Cena vs Punk again if WWE fails to book the match between the two. Hence, Punk must face Cena after ending his rivalry with McIntyre.

2. Stone Cold Steve Austin

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs CM Punk is one of the dream matches for many WWE fans. The match was already teased in the past but never happened. As per the internal rumors, it is believed that Punk vs Austin has been in discussion and could expect a match sooner or later. Austin seems to be in a more jacked physique than ever and the rumors suggest he could step in for one last match. Punk also addressed the potential match with Austin in a recent interview. All these hints that Punk vs Austin could be held in the upcoming events.

1. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins vs CM Punk was supposed to happen at WrestleMania 40 for the World Heavyweight Championship, however, the plan got scrapped after Punk suffered an injury. The potential feud was again teased at Money in the Bank 2024 and in the fallout of SummerSlam, however, Rollins was taken out by Bronson Reed and Punk carried out with McIntyre.

Although both are on a different path, they could collide against each other after finishing the business with their existing rivalries. Rollins vs Punk is rumored to be held on or before WrestleMania 41 and the company seems to be waiting for the perfect venue for the match. As the foundation for the match is already set, Punk must go on against Rollins after he ends his rivalry with McIntyre.
