Rhodes may have to contend with these men

The Bad Blood PLE was a rollercoaster from start to finish, but the cliffhanger ending to the event has left the fans with more questions than answers.

Add to that Kevin Owens’ unprovoked attack on Cody Rhodes after the cameras had stopped rolling, and it seems like the Undisputed WWE Universal champion has a huge target on his back. Here, we take a look at the top five superstars Cody Rhodes will have to deal with now after WWE Bad Blood PLE.

5. Solo Sikoa

It may appear to the audience that Solo Sikoa is in rearview for Rhodes. However, that may not be entirely true, as the new Bloodline’s leader may still target the American Nightmare along with his lackeys. Granted, the two have already had two encounters in the past, both of which Cody Rhodes has won. But the two fierce rivals could come face to face at least once more. With a plethora of superstars behind the Undisputed WWE Universal champion’s back, it seems like Sikoa might be lower on the priority list.

4. Gunther

The WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H introduced a brand new Crown Jewel title in the Bad Blood PLE. He stated that the current WWE champion will come up against the reigning World champion at the Crown Jewel PLE next month. That pits Cody Rhodes against the Ring General Gunther for an epic showdown in Saudi Arabia. It’s safe to say that the former AEW EVP’s plate is quite full, and now he’ll have to compete against one of the best grapplers in the business today. Who said becoming the top guy in WWE was an easy task?

3. Kevin Owens

As if the soul-crushing main event tag team match at the Bad Blood PLE wasn’t enough, Cody Rhodes was viciously attacked in the parking lot by none other than his friend, Kevin Owens. In what was yet another heel turn for the Canadian, he made it clear that he wasn’t happy with the American Nightmare for teaming up with Roman Reigns. The Stamford-based promotion usually reserves such massive turns for PLEs or at least TV, but in a massive surprise, it was the onlooking fans who recorded this unexpected assault by Owens. Rhodes may be on an immediate collision course with Gunther, but the former US champion will be waiting in the shadows to lock horns with him very soon.

2. Roman Reigns

Rhodes and Reigns displayed excellent team chemistry to knock out their opponents on the Bad Blood PLE. The latter even rescued the champion from a brazen attack by Sikoa’s henchmen after the clash. One particular moment caught the fans’ eyes after the save. As Cody Rhodes tried to stand on his feet gingerly, The Original Tribal Chief handed him the Undisputed Universal WWE title belt. But before he did so, Reigns had a good look at the strap, signalling his intentions to go for his beloved title soon. That can only mean one thing: a WrestleMania XL rematch sooner rather than later.

1. The Rock

The Rock’s shocking return at the Bad Blood PLE after the main event almost brought down the roof. Our prediction for The Great One’s appearance at the All-State Arena in Atlanta came true. Anyway, the 10-time world champion’s surprising return to the mix has opened endless possibilities. One of those possibilities will surely be his future showdown against Cody Rhodes. The Rock did not make his intentions clear, but he did make some signs, the true meaning of which could only be deciphered by the Brahma Bull. One thing is for sure, it does not bode well for Rhodes!

It seems like Rhodes is in the busiest phase of his championship reign after completing six months at the very top. If he wants to keep hold of his strap, he would have to fight off all these legitimate threats to his supremacy. Whatever ensues, the fans of WWE would be the real winners.
