The 2025 edition of the PLE will emanate from the Lucas Oil Stadium
The first PLE of 2025 is less than a month away as the Stamford-based promotion is building a stacked card for the fandom. The 2025 edition of the Royal Rumble PLE will emanate from the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The 38th edition of the PLE will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2025, marking the first Rumble PLE to not take place during the month of January. The PLE will feature stars from both the Raw and SmackDown brand.
This year’s WWE Royal Rumble will be extremely historic for several reasons. Most notably, it will be the first WWE PLE to be streamed live on Netflix. The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is set to defend his title along with the Winged Eagle WWE title in a ladder match against Kevin Owens.
The two former friends are locked in a gruesome feud as the animosity between the two takes center stage whenever they come face to face. Rhodes and Owens last met in the main event of Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 15, 2024.
Rhodes was able to defend the title but Owens launched an attack after the match causing injury to the champion and setting the stage for their clash at the Rumble PLE in February.
However, despite all the marbles, the center attraction of the PLE is the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble match where 30 stars participate with the goal to win the match and challenge the champion at WrestleMania. Earlier only men’s Rumble matches were part of the PLE but since 2018, there have been two Royal Rumble bouts every year: one for men and one for women.
Since the countdown to the PLE has begun, Superstars have begun to announce and win their spots in the 30-men matchups. Everyone who has been confirmed for the women’s Rumble battle so far is listed here and the lists will be updated when additional Superstars are added.
WWE superstars confirmed for WWE Women’s Royal Rumble 2025
- Nia Jax
On the 01/13 episode of Monday Night Raw, former WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax made an appearance during Rhea Ripley’s segment. Jax ridiculed the newly crowned Women’s World Champion and announced her entry into the Women’s Rumble match.
Jax also reminded everyone that she hasn’t forgotten the betrayal she suffered at the hands of her friend Tiffany Stratton. Stratton cashed in the MITB contract in the 01/03 episode of Friday Night SmakcDown and successfully pinned Jax to become the new WWE Women’s Champion.
This will be Jax’s seventh Royal Rumble bout, and the former champion will aim for her first Rumble win in Indianapolis. At the 2019 Royal Rumble PLe, Jax was furious after her being eliminated in the Women’s Rumble match as she laid out R-Truth and took his spot in the Men’s Rumble match.
Jax’s involvement in the match was one of the most memorable moments of the PLE as she made history by becoming the first Superstar to compete in two Royal Rumbles on the same night, while also picking eliminations in both matches.
Except for the one time there were 40, and the 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble, which should presumably be deleted from history, every Royal Rumble battle has had 30 superstars. Some of those Superstars will remain anonymous until the clock strikes zero and their song is released. Others, whether they declare entrance or win a match to secure a berth, are revealed ahead of time.
