The play-by-play commentator hasn’t stepped into the ring for a long time
Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green has set her sights on defeating WWE play-by-play commentator and legend Michael Cole in a match at WrestleMania 41.
The pro wrestling leader is heading to Nevada for the 41st edition of WrestleMania, the event will take place as a two-night event on April 19 and 20, 2025 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, USA. This is the second WrestleMania to take place in the Las Vegas area.
During the recent December 27th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, a fan sign went viral suggesting a match between Michael Cole and WWE United States Champion Chelsea Green at WrestleMania in April. Many fans liked the idea and started to speculate about a potential clash between the two.
Green took to her X (formerly Twitter) account, commenting on Cole’s reaction to the idea. Cole had hinted that he was open to the match, suggesting he would take the payday, which appeared to show his approval for the bout.
In response to Cole’s comment the Women’s US Champion hilariously tweeted stating that she will take the victory. “And I’ll take the victory,” Green tweeted.
However, it seems like there’s another star who has set their sights on a match against Cole inside the squared ring at the grandest stage.
Bayley wants to take down Michael Cole before anyone else
Amid the chatters of a potential match between Cole and Green, the first Women’s Grand Slam Champion, Bayley made it clear that she wants to fight the veteran announcer of the WWE before anyone else. Bayley has a love-hate relationship with Cole and has often talked about wanting to face him inside the squared circle.
A fan recently took to X (Twitter) to suggest a potential match between Green and Cole. The fan proposed that after all these years, Bayley should finally face off against Michael Cole, or she can act as the guest referee with Chelsea Green on SmackDown.
The former multi-time WWE Champion swiftly reacted to the tweet, making it clear that, regardless of anything else, she wants to be the one to confront Michael Cole first. “I don’t care what anyone says, I get Cole first,” Bayley tweeted.
Cole is no stranger to competition inside the squared circle and even has a win at the grandest stage. At WrestleMania 27, he faced off against WWE legend Jerry “The King” Lawler in a memorable match, with Stone Cold Steve Austin serving as the special guest referee.
Initially, Austin declared Lawler the winner of the match. However, the Anonymous RAW General Manager intervened, reversing the decision and declaring Cole the winner by disqualification due to Austin’s involvement in the match.
