The Women’s Rumble match was introduced in 2018

While the first edition of the Royal Rumble took place in 1988, the match was only contested in the men’s division until 2018 when the Stamford-based promotion introduced the match in the women’s division.

Since its inception, the women’s Rumble match has created some iconic moments and has featured some of the biggest names in pro wrestling. Former WWE World Champion Asuka won the first-ever women’s Rumble match in 2018 which was held at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Royal Rumble is a professional wrestling match featuring Battle Royal rules, where competitors eliminate others by throwing them over the top rope. Typically, 30 participants take part, with two starting the match and new wrestlers entering every 90 seconds until all 30 are in the ring.

The Rumble matches not only create huge era-defining moments but also a testament to the resilience of the one who survives. Multiple stars have created unique records during their appearance in the match.
