Over the years, a number of big superstars appeared on WWE NXT!
WWE NXT is a professional wrestling weekly television show, produced by WWE featuring stars from the NXT roster. The show is primarily held at the Capitol Wrestling Center/ WWE Performance Center and is telecasted every Wednesday Night and has been running successfully since 2011. This is the secondary and developmental brand of WWE and features a number of rookie stars. However, a number of big WWE stars were also featured in the black and yellow brand. Here are ten WWE superstars you didn’t know appeared in WWE NXT.
Superstars who were in WWE NXT
10. Sheamus- In July 2013, Sheamus faced Luke Harper in a singles match and defeated him clean with the brogue kick.
9. James Storm- In October 2015, James Storm faced Danny Burch in a singles match and won, marking his first appearance in WWE.
8. Rob Van Dam- In 2013, Rob Van Dam competed in a singles match against Aiden English and picked up the win after the frog splash.
7. AJ Styles- In January 2022, AJ Styles appeared on the black and yellow brand and had a one-on-one match with Grayson Waller, marking his NXT debut match. Styles defeated Waller with the Phenomenal Splash and won his first match in NXT.
6. John Cena- In May 2013, John Cena appeared on NXT for a segment with Damien Sandow Enzo Amore & Big Cass. Cena gave a passage for Sandows to read and performed an Attitude Adjustment to celebrate with Big Cass and Enzo Amore.
5. Batista- In 2014, Batista appeared on the black and yellow brand for the very first time. He was confronted by Bo Dallas, who asked the Animal to bo-lieve in him. Batista teased of a potential alliance, however performed a spinebuster to Bo.
4. Randy Orton- In March 2013, Randy Orton faced Damian Sandows in a singles match, marking his NXT debut. Orton defeated Sandows with an RKO and secured his NXT debut win.
3. CM Punk- In August 2012, WWE Champion CM Punk teamed up with NXT Champion Seth Rollins and faced Antonio Cesaro & Kassius Ohno in a tag team match. Punk and Rollins won the match and they celebrated their victory together.
2. Jushin Thunder Liger- The Japanese Legend and a multi-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, Jushin Thunder Liger made his WWE debut at NXT Brooklyn 2015. Liger faced Tyler Breeze in a singles match and won the match.
1. The Undertaker- In October 2023, The Undertaker made his first appearance on the black and yellow brand confronting Bron Breakker in the final moments of the show. The American Badass argued with Bron on who is the real badass in the business and chokeslammed him. Taker saved Carmelo Hayes and both walked backstage in style.
