The 10/4 episode of WWE SmackDown could be filled with surprises!
WWE is all set to host the October 04, 2024 episode of Friday Night SmackDown live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. This is the final episode of SmackDown before the 2024 Bad Blood PLE, which is held one day before the show.
WWE has booked some of the interesting matches and segments for the show. Ahead of this week’s show, here we take a look at the top five surprises that could be in store for this week’s (October 04, 2024) episode of WWE SmackDown.
5. Tiffany Stratton leaves Nia Jax
Last Friday, Nia Jax tried to choke Tiffany Stratton in frustration with Bayley and Naomi still in the blue brand and being the contenders for her WWE Women’s title. Although Stratton didn’t react that much, if Jax tried to ill-treat the princess, she could turn on Jax and leave her alliance. This could add more pressure on Jax, as Stratton could cash in on her anytime.
4. New match for Bad Blood
Last Friday, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill announced that they are the hosts of the 2024 Bad Blood PLE through a video vignette. Ahead of the PLE, they could appear on this week’s SmackDown and could use their host power to insert themselves into the match card, by laying a championship open challenge at the event. On the other hand, as the backstage drama between LA Knight, Andrade and Carmelo Hayes is being teased, Nick Aldis could book a triple-threat US title match at Bad Blood.
3. Jimmy Uso returns
There have been huge expectations for Jimmy Uso’s WWE return since Roman made his return, however, the return has been delayed. At this stage, Jimmy could make his return this week on SmackDown. Jimmy’s return could cause Bloodline their tag team championship and also could help Roman in the tag team match at Bad Blood. Aligning the Original Bloodline members in the ongoing storyline could set the foundation for the Bloodline Civil War at Survivor Series.
2. New WWE Tag Team Champions could be crowned
Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa will be defending their WWE Tag Team Championship on the line against The Street Profits & #DIY in a triple threat tag team ladder match. Since it is a three-way ladder match, this reduces the champion’s advantage. The challengers do not need to pin the champions to win the title and only can take them out to win the titles. Since both Street Profits and DIY have beef on Bloodline, they could work as a unit to take Bloodline out of the picture and fight between themselves to crown new champions.
1. Kevin Owens could turn on Cody Rhodes
Last week on SmackDown, the internal issues between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens peaked. Owens tried to avoid Cody right from the start of the show, for agreeing to team up with Roman Reigns. In the final moments of the show, Cody’s interference causes Owens to his tag team match, which makes Owens push Cody until Orton calms him down. This week Owens and Rhodes will try to sort it out, however, it could result in Owens turning on Rhodes to turn heel.
