Witnessing recent events, WWE might have planned some surprises for the return of their vintage show.
WWE is ready to go retro with the return of their vintage show, Saturday Night’s Main Event. The spectacle will take place on December 14 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in New York.
The company has assembled a star-studded match card for the show’s comeback after nearly 16 years. Moreover, according to reports and recent developments, more plans might be in store for the show. Here are seven possible surprises planned for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024:
7. Vintage Setup
The theme of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event has been vintage and retro since its beginnings in the 1980s. Hoping to make the modern-era fans experience the vintage settings, WWE could have a similar setup to the one they had during the early beginnings of the event to completely suit the retro atmosphere at Nassau Coliseum.
6. Charlotte Flair returns
Charlotte Flair has been out of action for a year with a devastating knee injury. While she has been rehabbing for months, a recent report stated that her return could come sooner than expected. If she is indeed ready, WWE could bring her back as a major surprise at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event that would alter the women’s division moving forward.

5. Multiple Legends appear
The legendary Jesse Ventura has already been announced to return to the commentary booth at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024. Furthermore, more legends such as Jimmy Hart, Greg Valentine and Ted DiBiase are also expected to join the show, as per a new report by PWInsider. WWE could add more legends who have a rich history with the show to add more value to its grand comeback this Saturday.
4. Shocking title change
WWE could close out 2024 with a huge curveball at the WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024. With three title matches taking place, the creative team could book one of the top champions to drop the title. According to recent developments, Liv Morgan is most likely to lose her championship to IYO Sky as WWE planted the seeds for a future feud between her and Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s World title.

3. Throwback gimmicks
With WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event taking the fans back to the vintage days, WWE superstars could use this opportunity to go back to their old roots, too. The event could see multiple superstars don their past gimmicks for one night only to fit into the vintage settings of the prestigious event.
2. MITB cash-in
For months, Tiffany Stratton has teased cashing in her Money in the Bank contract against both Nia Jax and Liv Morgan. With Morgan in a scheduled title defence, Stratton could make a huge impression by cashing in her opportunity successfully and walk out of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event as the new champion, much to the surprise and possible ovation of the fans.
1. Winged Eagle title
WWE recently aired a promo of Triple H opening up a briefcase and showing something iconic that had a golden shine to Cody Rhodes, and walked out from the scene saying, “One night only.” This led to speculation that it could mark the return of the Winged Eagle WWE title, something Cody Rhodes has been advocating to make its comeback for a long time.
WWE could indeed cash in on this opportunity and bring back the historic title as a major surprise at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024 event.
