A lot of surprising twists and turns could be featured on 9/13 SmackDown
WWE is all set to host the September 13, 2024, Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, United States. This is the first episode of SmackDown to premiere on USA Network after almost five years.
As the Season Premiere is set to kick off, WWE has booked some of the interesting matches, segments and returns for this week’s show. Ahead of the premiere, here we take a look at the top five surprises that could be in store for this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown.
5. Logan Paul returns
It is the SmackDown Premiere, the biggest event of the blue brand. Since Logan Paul is known for big occasions, the Maverick could make his return to the blue brand this week.
As the show is already highly anticipated, Logan Paul’s return could make it much bigger. As Logan never had a rematch for the US title, at this stage, Logan could return and call for a rematch against LA Knight this Friday on SmackDown.
4. Tiffany Stratton’s MITB cash-in
Tiffany Stratton has been struggling to cash in her Money in the Bank contract against Nia Jax. Tiffany currently has the back of Jax which helped her win matches, however, she hasn’t got the same, as Stratton lost to Bayley despite Jax having her back.
Stratton on the other hand is also looking to cash in her MITB contract. At this stage, Tiffany could cash in her MITB contract against Jax this week, if she feels that having the back of Jax has no use.
3. Charlotte Flair returns
Charlotte Flair has been away from WWE since November 2023 due to multiple leg injuries and was written off from WWE TV to undergo surgery and recovery.
Flair, after successful surgery, has begun her in-ring training and her social media posts suggest that she is recovering faster than expected. As Flair’s return has been rumored for months, the Queen could make her return to the blue brand on the season premiere to make it big.
2. Jacob Fatu turns on Solo Sikoa
In the last few weeks, there have been some minor issues teased between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. Fatu sacrificed his tag team championship and also declined the Undisputed WWE Championship title shot offer from Cody Rhodes for Solo Sikoa.
It seems like Solo has been trying to downgrade Fatu and doesn’t want to get into any title picture. At this stage, Fatu could betray Solo and join forces with the returning Roman Reigns this week.
1. Randy Orton betrays Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes is all set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes in a steel cage match. Although the match is made inside the cage, there is a huge chance of Bloodline’s interference. As Cody can’t handle everything alone, he could call Randy Orton and Kevin Owens for the backup.
As most could expect Kevin Owens to turn on Cody, Orton could turn on him for the Undisputed WWE title match and also flash Cody’s selfish side of not having Owens’ back last week on SmackDown, when he got attacked by Austin Theory & Grayson Waller.
