WWE SummerSlam is stacked

WWE SummerSlam 2025 Night 1 is shaping up to be one of the most stacked cards in recent history. With championship clashes, celebrity involvement, and high-stakes rivalries, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what surprises may unfold at MetLife Stadium on Saturday, August 2.

Triple H has shown time and again that he’s not afraid to deliver shocking moments when the spotlight is brightest. Based on recent storylines and character developments, here are three bold surprises that could take place during Night 1 of WWE SummerSlam.

3. New Women’s tag team champions

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss teaming together has created plenty of intrigue. Despite their tension, a surprise win over Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez would give WWE’s women’s tag division a major jolt.

If Triple H sees long-term value in their partnership, we could be in for a title change and possibly one of the most entertaining “odd couple” reigns in recent memory.

2. Major heel turn into making

Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill is a clash of two rising superstars who have both thrived as babyfaces. But this kind of match is ripe for a heel turn.

Cargill has displayed flashes of arrogance and dominance reminiscent of her AEW days, while Stratton’s attitude could shift if she feels the fans turning on her.

A well-timed betrayal or underhanded win could instantly reshape the SmackDown women’s division and elevate either woman as a top-tier villain moving forward.

1. Seth Rollins returns

Seth Rollins hasn’t been seen on WWE television since suffering a reported knee injury at Saturday Night’s Main Event. While many believe the injury is legitimate, there’s increasing chatter that it could be a storyline swerve.

If Rollins does return, it could be in dramatic fashion, perhaps interfering in the CM Punk vs Gunther match for the World Heavyweight Championship.

This would immediately shake up the title scene and potentially reignite his longstanding feud with Punk. Whether he’s back to claim what’s his or simply stir chaos, a Rollins appearance would be a massive talking point.
