The Stamford-based promotion descended in Washington for the first PLE from the developmental brand. The WWE NXT Vengeance Day PLE emanated live from the CareFirst Arena, Washington, DC. The PLE promised major title clashes that also featured stars from the main roster.
There were a total of four title matches set for the show alongside two singles matches. The PLE was stacked with NXT talents showcasing their abilities in front of a packed arena, three champions were retained while one fell short in front of fierce opposition.
As the show has now concluded, let us take a look at the top five talking points from the 2025 edition of the Vengeance Day PLE.

- NXT Tag Team Championship: Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer & Axiom) (c) defeated Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura

- NXT Championship: Oba Femi (c) defeated Austin Theory and Grayson Waller

5. Fraxiom’s chemistry in the ring is undeniable
NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom (Fraxiom) put their titles on the line against the hard-hitting duo of Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura in the second match of the PLE. The tag champions were able to fend off the challengers and retain the tag titles.
What’s impressive is that, despite the match not being too long, it was excellent. The tag champions once again showcased their remarkable in-ring chemistry, delivering another amazing match that captivated fans.
4. Trick Williams falls
Former NXT Champion Trick Williams after losing his title at NXT New Year’s Evil was locked in a feud with Eddy Thorpe and after weeks of blindside attacks, the two stars were set to battle in a vicious Strap Match.
However, the result at the Vengeance Day PLE surprised many as fans were hoping Williams to bounce back with a win but Thrope picked up the win. The result points towards two possible plans either the feud will continue or Williams will be promoted to the main roster which is why he can afford to lose.
3. The dominance continues
Of the four titles contested at the WWE NXT Vengeance Day 2025 PLE, three champions triumphed over the challengers to retain their titles. As mentioned above, Fraxiom retained their tag titles, and NXT Women’s Champion Giulia retained the title in front of fierce opposition, including Bayley, Cora Jade, and Roxanne Perez.
On the other hand, NXT Champion Oba Femi defeated Grayson Waller and Austin Theory to retain his newly won title. The three champions proved they are here to stay. Even in the NXT Title triple-threat match, where no one expected Femi to lose, the high-octane battle saw the champion showcase his impressive skills.
2. New Champion crowned
Fallon Henley defended the NXT Women’s North American Championship against one of her biggest challenges yet, Stephanie Vaquer. The two stars collided in the first match to kick off the PLE.
Vaquer put on an impressive performance throughout the match and in the end pinned Henley to become the new NXT Women’s North American Champion. This was another showcase of dominance where Vaquer once again proved that she is among the best in the women’s division right now.
1. New Shield debut
The legacy of the Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose) shaped multiple storylines and careers for years to come even after their breakup. The developmental brand is trying the same concept as the four masked men who appeared following Oba Femi’s win.
Similar to the Shield the four men attacked Femi with two guys hoisting him in the air and the other two finished the Powerbomb. The addition of such an anarchist group might make the division even better and with the right booking the concept might deliver as planned.
Furthermore, the promotion also in the closing moments of the PLE debuted former TNA star Jordynne Grace who officially signed with the promotion and made her debut at the Royal Rumble 2025 PLE.
Grace stepped into the ring for a face-off against Giulia and Stephanie Vaquer to end the show. This was a smart move by the brand, offering a nice tease of what’s to come with Jordynne Grace joining the NXT roster.
