Finn Balor’s ‘The Demon’ persona first made an appearance in 2014, during Balor’s WWE NXT days. The Demon persona, characterized by full-body paint and a darker persona, became a staple for the former World Champion.
At NXT TakeOver: R-Evolution on December 11, 2014, WWE fans were first introduced to the character, which instantly became a fan favorite. Following his main roster debut, Balor’s Demon persona made its in-ring debut at SummerSlam 2016 against Seth Rollins.
The Demon managed to defeat Rollins to capture the WWE Universal Champion. While Balor had to relinquish the title just one day after becoming the inaugural champion due to a severe right shoulder injury.
