The Rock vs Roman Reigns might not happen at WrestleMania 41: WWE rumors

The Rock vs Roman Reigns is one of the most anticipated matches in WWE
The Rock vs Roman Reigns is one of the dream matches that the whole world has been waiting for. Rock revealed that it was supposed to happen at WrestleMania 39, however it didn’t happen. WWE advertised the match for WrestleMania 40, but the plans got scrapped, when Cody Rhodes claimed his main event spot, making huge changes in the storyline and the WrestleMania main event.
Instead of Rock vs Roman, it became The Rock & Roman Reigns, as they faced Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins in a tag team match on the Night 1 main event, where Rock & Roman won. Although both are on the same page now, there is a great expectation that Rock vs Roman could happen at WrestleMania 41. At this stage, backstage reports suggest the match could not happen next year.
The Rock’s next two WrestleMania opponents
According to WRKD Wrestling, The Rock vs Cody Rhodes is more likely to take place at WrestleMania 41 than the most anticipated match between Rock and Roman. The report also reveals that Rock vs Roman Reigns could happen at WrestleMania 42, which is likely to happen in London, United Kingdom.
Earlier this month, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the top two matches that could headline WrestleMania 41 are probably Roman Reigns vs Solo Sikoa & The Rock vs Cody Rhodes. Meltzer reports that the match has been in discussion since WrestleMania 40.
Dave Meltzer reports,
“The top two matches of WrestleMania 41 are probably Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa, and The Rock and Cody Rhodes. That’s been known since WrestleMania 40. Since the day after WrestleMania. They’re booking way ahead as far as the key stuff.”
The Rock has already teased a future match with Cody Rhodes on Raw after WrestleMania when he announced a temporary hiatus from WWE. Rock said that he would be coming for Cody, no matter if he is the champion or not. On the other hand, Roman has made his return to claim his Tribal Chief status from Solo Sikoa. However, Rock has never made his return since then.
Since pro wrestling is unpredictable, anything could happen in the future. Will you be excited to see Rock vs Roman after two years? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
