John Cena also received a Guinness World Record after his heel turn
At WrestleMania 41, John Cena will face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. This bout became official after Cena won the Men’s Elimination Chamber earlier this month. Following his triumph, The Franchise Player surprisingly turned heel, assaulting Cody Rhodes and teaming up with The Rock.
Since the attack, Rhodes addressed Cena on last week’s WWE SmackDown and yesterday night’s RAW. While the 16-time World Champion has yet to answer to The American Nightmare, the two superstars will appear together next week at the red brand’s presentation in Belgium.
In this article, we will see the top three things John Cena could do on WWE RAW next week.
3. John Cena bringing his old Doctor of Thuganomics gimmick back
John Cena accomplished excellent character work as ‘The Doctor of Thuganomics’ early in his career. As a result, it won’t be shocking if he uses this gimmick again on next week’s episode of RAW when he confronts the Undisputed WWE Champion.
If Cena returns with ‘The Doctor of Thuganomics’ character, many WWE fans who have seen the 16-time World Champion rise through the ranks will be sentimental. Also, there is a risk that John may become even more vicious on the mic, reinforcing his status as a larger heel.
2. John Cena doesn’t appear on the show
When Cody Rhodes heads to Belgium next week, he expects to meet the 16-time World Champion. Deep down in his heart, the Undisputed WWE Champion will want to launch an attack on The Franchise Player. However, there is a chance that The American Nightmare will not get to perform these things.
Cena may play mind games with the champion and irritate him by not showing up. Also, if the 47-year-old decides not to appear on WWE RAW in Belgium, the fans will boo him even more.
1. Cody Rhodes suffers another beatdown
John Cena destroyed Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber 2025. ‘The Leader of The Cenation’ abandoned The American Nightmare in a pool of blood. In fact, the aftermath of Cena’s strike could be seen on Rhodes’ face at SmackDown after Elimination Chamber.
Similarly, on next week’s Monday Night RAW, Cena might put another vicious thrashing on Rhodes. When the latter is doing a promo in the ring, The Greatest of All Time may make an unexpected cameo and knock Rhodes out. An angle like that would make Cena an even greater villain.
