LA Knight could have some interesting directions after major loss.
LA Knight had put up some of the most spectacular showcases in The Last Time is Now tournament. He battled mystery opponents and delivered high-octane matches and performances.
His effort and resilience led him to the tournament finals, where he squared off against Gunther on the December 5 episode of SmackDown to earn the right to be John Cena’s final opponent at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Despite a valiant effort, he failed in his quest, so here are the five directions he could explore next in his career.
5. Compete in the tag team division
LA Knight has largely been a singles performer throughout his major run in WWE. Following a major loss on SmackDown, The Megastar could explore his chances in the tag team division with a partner. This could be a fresh direction for his career, while also getting new opportunities.
4. Join the storyline with The Vision

The Vision has been a dominant force on Monday Night RAW, and LA Knight is no stranger to them. He has been in their crosshairs before and could join the top babyfaces in their ongoing feud with Paul Heyman’s group, possibly leading to exciting multi-man and singles matches.
3. Go after the mid-card title
With LA Knight already having two reigns as the WWE United States Champion, it could be time for him to go after RAW’s mid-card title, i.e, WWE Intercontinental Championship.
This could lead to an interesting feud and captivating title match with the reigning champion, Dominik Mysterio.
2. Pursue World Championship
LA Knight has attempted to get his hands on the top prize in WWE i.e. a World Championship. He has tried his luck against top stars like Seth Rollins, but failed.
With Knight losing a chance to be John Cena‘s final opponent, he could seek redemption and regain momentum by earning a chance at the World Heavyweight title moving forward.
1. Heel turn
LA Knight has everything, from a loyal fanbase to the physical stature and impressive in-ring acumen, yet he has not been truly The Megastar.
The time might have come for him to abadon his good guy image and shockingly turn heel following major losses and massive frustuations over the last year.
Who defeated LA Knight in the finals of The Last Time is Now tournament?
Gunther, on the December 5, 2025, episode of Friday Night SmackDown
