Top three things that might transpire during Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton's tag team match on WWE SmackDown tonight

The tag team match was set following last week’s brawl!

The October 3 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to air live from the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Multiple stars, including Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, Randy Orton, Jacob Fatu, Jade Cargill, and Sami Zayn, are being advertised for the show.

The final U.S. show before Crown Jewel will see Sami Zayn continuing his U.S. Title Open Challenge, Damian Priest in action, and an appearance by Tiffany Stratton ahead of her showdown with Stephanie Vaquer. 

Additionally, the show will also feature a massive tag team match, where Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton will team up to battle Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Ahead of the clash tonight, let us take a look at the top three things that might transpire during the match.

3. Randy Orton turns on Cody Rhodes

‘The Viper’ Randy Orton has recently been on a babyface run, which has seen him shed his trickery and embrace gamesmanship. WWE has been teasing his heel turn for quite a while. Fans are also advocating for the same, as the recent face run has been stale.

Orton once again glanced at the Undisputed title last week while handing it to Cody. The angle of Orton losing in the final of the King of the Ring tournament against Rhodes can also be used to justify the heel turn. A potential heel turn tonight is going to take WWE fans and even Paul Heyman by surprise; it would also completely change the dynamic going into Crown Jewel 2025.

2. Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton win

While Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed are tough to put down, they are also reckless in many instances. Rhodes and Orton, being the veterans they are could use it against them and score a pinfall victory to further humiliate Seth Rollins’ lead The Vision.

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins is set to face Rhodes for the men’s Crown Jewel title. The two stars have already been having fierce promo battles for the past week. Rhodes has gained the upper hand in both occasions as he is beaming with confidence, while Rollins is struggling with confidence.

Rollins might make an appearance tonight, unleashing chaos and attacking Rhodes with the help of Breakker and Reed. The attack will also make sure that Rhodes is compromised going into the title clash.
