The Women’s World Champion was not cleared to compete!
Ahead of her scheduled title defense at Clash in Paris, Women’s World Champion Naomi was set to defend the title on this week’s Raw against former Champion Iyo Sky. However, the match was pulled from the card, and WWE informed that the Champion is not medically cleared to compete.
Rumors started to appear among the fandom about her injury and even pregnancy. PWInsider Elite reported that Naomi was indeed backstage at WWE Raw in Quebec earlier in the day, so her match being removed wasn’t due to her absence from the event.
The report added that, whatever the reason for the change, it was kept very discreet and not shared with other talents. Reacting to the rumors, Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live stated that if the rumors are true, Naomi could be out for a long, long time.
Amid uncertainty on her current status, let us take a look at the top four things WWE can do if Naomi is unable to compete at Clash in Paris 2025. She is set to defend the title against the 20-woman battle royal winner at Evolution, Stephanie Vaquer.
4. Postpone the match

Stephanie Vaquer outlasted everyone in the 20-woman battle royal at the all-women’s PLE, Evolution, and earned a title shot at the Paris PLE. However, as the current Champion is not cleared for in-ring action, WWE can postpone the match for a later PLE, likely Crown Jewel.
Stripping Naomi of the title while she’s on an incredible run as a heel would only kill the momentum and WWE will have to suffer severe fan backlash.

3. Schedule a clash with a top star

If WWE decides to go forward with booking Vaquer in the absence of the Champion, the promotion can book her again with multiple top names in the promotion. Vaquer has had run-ins with Chelsea Green; the promotion can also book her against Iyo Sky, who was set to contest for the title.
Another scenario can be Vaquer and Iyo teaming up as both are babyfaces to battle Chelsea and one of her Secret Hervice agents.
2. #1 Contenders match
Another way to give fans an amazing match if the title clash is not possible is booking a colossal triple-threat way match between Vaquer, Sky, and Rhea Ripley, with the winner getting a title shot against the Champion when she returns.
The three women are excellent in-ring performers and are among the top stars of the division; a triple-threat match would only make things interesting for the division.

1. Naomi vacates the title

What began as a surprise cash-in at Evolution has turned into one of the most compelling Women’s World Championship reigns to date. Naomi’s heel run has not only elevated the title but has also given fans a new face amid the constant battle for the title between Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley.
However, if she is unable to compete and requires a long hiatus, the only sane thing to do in order to let the division continue moving forward is to relinquish the title. This would help WWE book a vacant title match at the upcoming PLE with Sky and Vaquer the likely participants.
