The OTC has been absent from WWE programming since the Royal Rumble PLE
“The OTC” Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE programming since the Royal Rumble 2025 PLE, where he failed to win the match despite building momentum after reclaiming the Ula Fala from the hands of Solo Sikoa.
Reigns entered the men’s Royal Rumble match with one goal in mind, which was to win the match and challenge the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, in order to recapture the title and his lost glory.
However, Reigns, while fighting with Seth Rollins, was eliminated by CM Punk, who was then eliminated by Logan Paul, and while Punk and Reigns argued, Rollins launched an assault, landing the brutal stomp, this attack forced Reigns out of action.
According to recent reports, Reigns might be involved in a triple threat match against Rollins and Punk at the 41st edition of WrestleMania. While this is very good news for fans, it might not be good news for Reigns and his one particular record.
Roman Reigns has headlined WrestleMania four times in a row
Among Reigns’ multiple records, The OTC has a unique record of main eventing WrestleMania four times in a row. The legendary streak kicked off in 2021, where Reigns headlined the 37th edition which emanated from the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Reigns defeated Edge and Daniel Bryan in the triple threat match for the WWE Universal Championship. The second consecutive main event for the OTC came at WrestleMania 38 which emanated from the AT&T Stadium in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex city of Arlington, Texas.
Roman Reigns (Universal Champion) defeated Brock Lesnar (WWE Champion) by pinfall in the winner takes all match for the WWE Championship and WWE Universal Championship. The OTC’s third main event in a row came at WrestleMania 39, which aired from the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, where he defeated Cody Rhodes by pinfall to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
However, at WrestleMania 40 which aired from the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Reigns’ 1316-day dominant streak as the champion was shattered as Cody Rhodes defeated him to become the new Undisputed WWE Champion. This was Reigns’ fourth consecutive WrestleMania main event.
However, it appears that the OTC’s unique record could be in jeopardy, as both the World Heavyweight title and the Undisputed title matchups have been decided. Roman Reigns is scheduled to return on SmackDown in Bologna, Italy, on Friday, March 21, and in London.
