This week’s SmackDown will emanate from Pittsburgh.

The March 27 episode of SmackDown will take place at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. WWE has announced multiple matches for the show, which is expected to continue the build towards WrestleMania 42.

Despite announcing a handful of matches for WrestleMania, WWE needs to confirm more matches for the two-night spectacle soon, as the PLE is now less than a month away. With multiple ongoing storylines and feuds, here are three high-stakes matches that GM Nick Aldis can make official for Mania this Friday.

3. Giulia vs Tiffany Stratton vs Chelsea Green

Tiffany Stratton has been eyeing the Women’s United States title since her return this year. Stratton, in her bid to challenge the current Champion, Giulia, managed to beat her manager, Kiana James. The storyline has unfolded with reports of a triple threat match plan involving Giulia, Stratton, and Jordynne Grace. However, due to Grace’s injury, she is likely going to miss this year’s Mania.

In Grace’s absence, WWE can put Chelsea Green into the fray if she is medically cleared to compete. Green has been involved in a back-and-forth tussle with Stratton in recent weeks, and this might be WWE’s way of building towards the triple threat match. Green’s involvement in the U.S. title has been since its inception and it would be fitting if she is also involved when the title is defended at a WWE PLE for the first time.

2. Sami Zayn vs Trick Williams

Another clash that has been teased for weeks is between Sami Zayn and former NXT and TNA Champion Trick Williams, who, since his main roster debut, has become a massive fan favorite. On the other hand, Zayn has been struggling after losing the title match at the hands of Drew McIntyre at Elimination Chamber.

There have been audible calls from fans to turn Williams a babyface, while Sami has been showing signs of turning heel. Nick Aldis can book a match between the two this week, likely after another confrontation, and WWE could book a double-turn for the two at Mania.

1. Drew McIntyre vs Jacob Fatu

Speaking of Drew McIntyre, the former Undisputed Champion, since losing the title, has been locked in a brutal feud with Jacob Fatu. Both stars were at each other’s throats last week, brawling multiple times throughout the show.

A grudge match for Mania is expected between the two, and GM Nick Aldis can announce it this Friday on SmackDown, without wasting any time. A stipulation for the match would add more hype to the clash, which is likely going to become a massive attraction for fans at the ‘Grandest Stage.’

What matches and segments have been announced for this week’s SmackDown?

• Giulia vs Tiffany Stratton – Women’s US Championship Match• Kit Wilson vs Jelly Roll• The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax & Lash Legend) (c) Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss – Women’s Tag Team Championship Match

When and where will WrestleMania 42 take place?
