The two stars will lock horns in the Frost Bank Center

After suffering an injury in the triple threat match at Survivor Series 2024 PLE, ‘The Celtic Warrior’ Sheamus took a short hiatus from WWE action. He suffered the injury in the triple threat match against Ludwig Kaiser and Bron Breakker, where Bron’s IC title was on the line.

The Celtic Warrior made his return on the last episode of Monday Night Raw in 2024 and attacked Kaiser, setting up a No. 1 contender clash on last week’s episode of the Red brand. The Celtic Warrior emerged victorious in the clash and confronted the IC Champion who was sitting in the front row.

Sheamus and Breakker got into a heated altercation which was followed by the match announcement between the two for January 25 Saturday Night’s Main Event where the Intercontinental title will be on the line. The first SNME of 2025 will air live from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.

3. Redemption

As mentioned earlier, the Celtic Warrior failed in his attempt to capture the Intercontinental title in the triple threat match against Kaiser and Breakker at Survivor Series 2024 PLE. This was his second attempt at Breakker’s title as the two stars first met in the 11/11/24 episode of Raw in a match that became an instant classic.

However, the match ended in a disqualification due to Ludwig Kaiser’s interference. The Celtic Warrior has another opportunity to claim the title. Winning it would not only be a major accomplishment but also a redemption for his previous losses to Breakker.

2. Establishing Dominance

The Celtic Warrior has been unable to taste title glory since 2021. His last title reign ended on August 21, 2021, at the SummerSlam PLE at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, where he was defeated by Damian Priest, losing the United States Championship and bringing an end to his third reign at 132 days.

A win over Breakker would not only establish Sheamus as a dominant force in the promotion but also prove the doubters wrong. The win would also be a great testament to the endurance and longevity of the Celtic Warrior.

1. Grand Slam Champion

The Celtic Warrior has had a long career in the Stamford-based promotion which is filled with multiple achievements. He has held the United States Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship three times each, as well as the WWE World Tag Team Championship four times with Cesaro.

Additionally, he has also held the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Cesaro. However, similar to John Cena the Intercontinental title has eluded Sheamus throughout his WWE career and a win over Breakker would mean that he has achieved the goal.

The addition of the IC title would also mean that he is a WWE Grand Slam Champion as the IC title is the only piece left in his journey to become the Grand Slam Champion.

Can Sheamus emerge victorious and achieve the milestone of becoming a Grand Slam Champion? Will Ludwig Kaiser interfere in the IC title match at SNME? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comments section.
