Liv Morgan emerged victorious in the 2022 women’s MITB ladder match.

In the first match of the 2022 edition of Money in the Bank, Liv Morgan outlasted Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Becky Lynch, Lacey Evans, Raquel Rodriguez, and Shotzi to win the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

With the win, she also obtained the briefcase, which contains a contract for a championship match, at a time and place of her choosing. Morgan edged her name in the list of stars who cashed in on the same night and changed their career trajectory.

Ronda Rousey defended her title against Natalya

The 2022 Money in the Bank PLE took place on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. While Morgan won the ladder match to kick off the show, the then SmackDown Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey put her title on the line against Natalya in the fifth match of the show.

Rousey defended her title successfully for the second time against Natalya, defeating her by submission. However, before she could even process her win or celebrate, her worst nightmare came true as Morgan rushed out with the briefcase in her hand.

Liv Morgan bagged her first World title three years ago

As soon as Rousey subbed Natalya, Morgan rushed in, cashing in the MITB contract, forcing Ronda to defend despite limping badly on her right leg.

Rousey initially found success countering the leg attack from Morgan with an ankle lock. However, as soon as Liv got out of the hold, she rolled up Rousey directly into a pin, successfully making the three count to bag her first World title in WWE.

Liv Morgan dislocated her shoulder last month

During the June 16 episode of Monday Night Raw, Liv took part in singles action against Kairi Sane. However, in the opening moments of the match, Morgan fell awkwardly and dislocated her shoulder. Following the injury, reports suggested that Liv will be out of action for around twelve weeks, or three months.

Morgan has recently undergone surgery, but her absence has forced WWE to alter many storylines leading into Evolution and SummerSlam.
