Top four times IC title was defended in ladder match at WWE WrestleMania

The IC title has a long history with ladder matches at WWE’s premier event, WrestleMania.
The WWE Intercontinental Championship has been one of the most prestigious titles in the company for a long time. It is often called the workhorse title and known to be the stepping stone into the main event scene in WWE.
Moreover, the title gained significant prominence when it was first defended in a ladder match at WrestleMania. Since then, the WWE Intercontinental Championship has been on the line in a ladder match at The Show of Shows three times, with one more match set to be added to its lineage.
4. WWE WrestleMania 10
The iconic match that put the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the map was the epic clash between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon at WrestleMania 10.
Heading into the bout, both men held claims to the workhorse title, and both of their belts were suspended above the ring. The captivating collision was remembered for Michaels’ drop on Ramon from on top of the ladder and The Bad Guy climbing the ladder to grab both belts in classic fashion.
3. WWE WrestleMania 31
The WWE Universe had to wait more than two decades before they saw another ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 31.
It was a multi-man match where Wade Barrett defended the title against an array of top competitors. The match was a classic showdown and saw Daniel Bryan win a championship at The Showcase of the Immortals for the second straight year.
2. WWE WrestleMania 32
The very next year at WrestleMania 32 also featured a multi-man ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Kevin Owens was the defending champion heading into the bout that saw other top stars like Stardust, Dolph Ziggler and Sami Zayn.
As the match came down to its final moments,The Miz was on top of the ladder and had the title literally in his grasp. However, his cockiness got the best of him as Zack Ryder came from behind to push him off the ladder and grab the title to become the new champion.
1. WWE WrestleMania 42
Ten years after Zack Ryder’s epic win at WrestleMania 32, WWE is set to feature another multi-man ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 42.
It will see the reigning champion put his title on the line against the likes of Rusev, Dragon Lee, Je’Von Evans, and JD McDonagh.

The 42nd edition of WrestleMania will take place as a two-night event on Saturday, April 18 and 19, at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
