In recent appearances, Punk also sent a message to Gunther and gave him a fair warning. Punk was supposed to be in the championship bout by WrestleMania 40, but the injuries took him out. Since he is back and based on his ongoing angles, it seems like Punk could be the next world heavyweight champion who could dethrone Gunther.
