The new era of SmackDown has been defined by some of the most compelling WWE stars today.
WWE saw the dawn of a new era at WrestleMania 40 under the regime of WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque. This was followed by shake-ups, title changes and, ultimately, the WWE Draft 2024 that set a new roster for both RAW and SmackDown.
With SmackDown gaining much momentum with its new line-up of stars amidst its move to the USA network, here is a look at the top five leading stars on the blue brand in the new era:
5. LA Knight
LA Knight scratched and clawed his way to reach the level of stardom he has today in the WWE Universe. After falling short at various significant opportunities in 2023, LA Knight turned things around in 2024, capturing multiple victories and having a compelling presence on Friday Night SmackDown. His rise to the top was solidified with a US title win at SummerSlam when he defeated Logan Paul in one of the most historic showdowns in WWE history,
4. Logan Paul
The internet sensation Logan Paul brought immense star power and massive traction to WWE, which further escalated during his reign as the WWE United States Champion. Despite having limited matches, The Maverick has emerged as a huge box-office attraction for WWE with the company hoping to have him on the main roster for an extended period.
3. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens has been known to be one of the hardest workers in WWE for a decade. Even with the dawn of the new era in WWE, Kevin Owens continued to remain a cornerstone for SmackDown, being featured in high-profile feuds and, most recently main eventing WWE Bash in Berlin in a title match against Cody Rhodes.
2. Solo Sikoa
Solo Sikoa took over the reins of The Bloodline following Roman Reigns’ loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40. He recruited new members to the group and laid a warpath on SmackDown, decimating multiple superstars in the process. While Solo continues his pursuit to capture the World Title, there is no doubt that he has been a compelling fixture for SmackDown since the dawn of the new era.
1. Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes has been at the top of the sports entertainment world following his Undisputed WWE title win at WrestleMania 40. Following his win, Rhodes moved to SmackDown, representing the brand as its top champion. He has proven himself to be one of the top draws of this generation in terms of live events, merchandise and traction en route to becoming the next face of WWE and possibly the poster boy of the new era.
