Triple H is happy with WWE Night of Champions 2025’s success.

In a surprising show of humility, CM Punk publicly apologized to Saudi Arabia during the WWE Night of Champions 2025 week. A gesture that left WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, feeling deeply moved and proud.

The moment was a highlight of the PLE weekend, showing growth from one of wrestling’s most polarizing figures.

Punk apologizes to fans at the kickoff event

During the Night of Champions kickoff show, CM Punk addressed an old controversy stemming from a tweet he made in 2019. The tweet, which took a shot at The Miz and indirectly disparaged Saudi Arabia, had lingered as a sore spot for some fans.

Punk used the kickoff segment to clear the air, saying:

“This guy wants me to apologize for a mean tweet I wrote six years ago. Hey, listen, legitimately had nothing to do with Saudi Arabia,

I woke up and I was crabby and I wrote a mean tweet to The Miz. And I apologized to The Miz. And sir, what’s your name? Mohammed? Mohammed, I sincerely apologize to you and all of Saudi Arabia.”

His words were met with loud cheers from the Riyadh crowd, many of whom appreciated the candor and sincerity in his tone.

Triple H commends CM Punk’s growth

Speaking during the post-show with Byron Saxton and Jackie Redmond, Triple H reflected on Punk’s evolution as both a performer and a person. When asked about the match with John Cena and the surrounding story, he chose to focus on the emotional maturity Punk displayed.

“I was privileged to watch him grow as a human being, to step out here and apologize to the people of Saudi, to just cherish where he is at in life and his career and the things that he gets to do and the opportunities that he has, And I was incredibly proud of him.”

The Game acknowledged how far both Punk and Cena have come since their explosive rivalry fifteen years ago and praised the tone of mutual respect in their latest chapter.

WWE builds future in Saudi Arabia

Triple H also used the moment to thank Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, for continuing to support WWE’s presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He closed the segment by hyping the next major event on the Saudi calendar, the Royal Rumble in 2026, which will be held in the capital city, Riyadh.

CM Punk’s apology may have shocked longtime fans, but for WWE’s top brass, it marked a full-circle moment, one that reflects both personal and professional growth.
